So does nitrogen need to be included in our carbon fottprint

Well every other bigger under the sun seems to be buying the co2 by product storing food killing pigs and putting bubbles in drinks but we have to account for it when we buy the fertiliser.
I seem to remember being asked if I used UK nitrogen or imported when I completed my Arla carbon audit and UK had lower footprint as the manufacture process emits less CO2…. Could be wrong though

Same as we have to account for the methane produced by our cows Recyling the waste from the crop and veg industry like wheat gluten, rape seed meal, sugar beet pulp, biscuit waste, wrong sized carrots etc etc

Yep and all that rainforest is cut down for beef - not hardwood
It’s ridiculous, they cut it down for the wood first, then it’s cropped for few years, soy and maize for ethanol more than for human or animal feed. Then when the soil has been raped(sorry for using stupid, over emotional vegan language) of its nutrients by several years of cropping, cattle appear.
So to say it’s cleared for ranching is highly debatable, but there is no debate with vegans!

Thought the cattle went in 1st before the crops! Didn't realise it was the other way around! Thought they pushed the cattle on into the new ground and cropped the ground that the cattle had conditioned

Rainforest soil is basically sand, once the trees go, it soon dies. You need ruminants and their dung to make the type of soil we have here or on the prairies etc.

No, cattle go in and make the most of what’s left after the soya crop.
So why did I read about Bolsonaro's law a while ago? That's what they called the fact that they're not allowed to crop it for the first two years after forest clearance but they then sell the land on to the soy famers after the cattle have grazed for huge sums.

I'm confused now as the whole Amazon thing is as foggy as can be with different groups claiming wildly different things.
