Don’t like buying stuff, enjoy the end result, don’t like the process.

looking to replace a tractor with something in the 170/180hp range ideally no more than £70/75k so in the 4-6000hr area.

Few key criteria:
6cyl
Ideally vario
Not too heavy
Manoeuvrable (for traile planter)
Comfy cab, decent seat.
high level headlights

preferably either Case Puma, NH T7, Valtra T series or Fendt 700 series.

Interested in peoples experiences of these models in higher hours, what specs and what sort of service costs/ repair bills have been encountered.

Shortlist of the above brands/models made from going on past experiences and local dealer back up.

Thanks.

Local dealer has a case 175cvx with 1100 hours on. In region of 75k I think. It's a good tractor as had it on hire for the summer and would of bought it myself if I could

What is it like on road? Have a NH t7030 and the ride is “overly firm” to be polite, it also tends to wander.

Big Masseys look good value for money used in my opinion.

Getting fendt vario and sisu engine. You already deal with Phillips.

The fact Mr Smith runs a fleet of them probably tells you something too.

Don't you love it when you have a plan and someone throws in something completely different!
He did say he wanted a comfortable cab.;)

I know, fair point.

never driven the newer ones, had a seat when priced one up 3 yr ago and thought the controls were a bit of a buggeration.

One I looked at had 2 screens (3 if count the dash), 2 joysticks, half manual spools, half electric and for some of the settings you had to go in through the buttons on the dash and set them on the tiny dash screen.

Do look good value tho 🤔😫

Obviously a reason why you haven’t said JD but a 6175-6195r ticks the boxes and would be well in budget at those hours. A lot been p/x for 6250r.
been burnt badly by the brand in the past, dealer very good here, but could only do so much with a complete pig of a machine. Neighbours seem to get on well with jd, but the niggles still at the back of my mind. Also the steering lock isnt great from what I’ve seen.
