Is the answer a farmer owned/run co-operative for selling grain in the UK, something like Fonterra for the dairy industry in NZ, pretty much every farmer could join and it would be big enough to take out the competition, have our own marketing and most importantly our own standards

Crazy really HMG are constantly at us to be more efficient, look after the environment better etc etc, But then we have the likes of AIC, rt, NFU and AHBD who are stifling our efficiency by being greedy!

red tractor especially as all they do is take our money and give nothing, ABSOLUTELY NOTHING back in return other than a load of pointless Drivel.

In fact I would go as far to say the whole lot of the afore mentioned companies are an utter disgrace and should be disgusted with themselves and there attitude towards farmers without whom the British countryside wouldn’t look as good as it does!

And to all the above companies who I know are reading this, Remember one thing, Not that long ago the Brussels gravy train was sent away and told to not bother coming back,

Now you lot are on the radar and unless you sort yourselves out, the same will happen to your train!

These companys will be smug with themselves to have got this all sown up.

A real club of horror to us . Horrified to read how it is.

And while I’m at it, NFU and red tractor it must be especially embarrassing for you 2 to find that despite the millions us farmers pay you annually to promote British farming that a motoring Journalist and a condiments company make a far better job of promoting UK AG all at no cost to the farmer!

….. aided and abetted by the NFU / AHDB it seems

Ahdb seem to have pulled their socks up since the horticulture side got binned. Pretty sure cereals side will be binned. Fw even publicising this shows change is on the way. Nfu = dead duck for at least the last ten years.

As an aside, AHDB seem to spend an extraordinary amount of time talking the price down.

This is brilliant Steve well done. And well done to FW for running it 👍👍👍👍👍
This is all incredibly positive and constructive for a bunch of backstabbers and you have done it for no financial reward, just because you know it’s right.
Thanks (and thanks for everyone's support).

I'm worried about the NFU.

they're researching cost of pesticide tests.Whats more, AHDB levy payers are paying for it.

Tom Bradshaw has already intimated it's looking possibly more expensive to do that, than it would be to be RT assured.

Is it just a smoke screen?

We don't need pesticide tests for UK grain, so why go ro the expense and bother of researching it?

AIC accept a pesticide declaration for imports. That's free!

Imports use pesticides not licensed in UK, hence testing is maybe required.

We've only got UK pesticides, therefore we don't need to test.

NSTS, PA1/PA2, etc. Risk based system of pesricide residue adherence, implemented by UK government, government happy with that.

It's same reason that RT grain doesn't need pesticide testing.

RT pesricide audit audits the farmers pesticide records self-declarations. So it's a self declaration, just the same.

RT offers premium brands further environmental, H&S type supplier assurances, that's fine.

So why are NFU using our AHDB levy to research Pesticide testing costs?

We're not asking for pesticide testing, we're asking for a pesticide declaration :scratchhead: :scratchhead: :facepalm::scratchhead::scratchhead:

If anybody actually did the pesticide tests it wouldn't take much to research the costs!! Just shows imports are not tested and the declaration is sufficient.
Can't believe how much work it is and how deaf the NFU are to something that is so obviously wrong😠

Well UK ag walked into this mess blindfolded.

Under what pretence? We need rules to keep you all safe, don't you worry, we'll go and make some up and while we're at it we'll manipulate your market to create a gravy train for ourselves.
Uk ag walked into this eyes wide open...... it was the promise of an extra shekel or two that tempted the big few and it snowballed from there.

Dont think we won't be doing it again, as sure as the sun rises, we will and probably into something worse.

You are absolutely correct. NFU are 100% biased as they don't want to kill the goose that lays the golden eggs. Keep up your clear and simple line. We absolutely do not under any circumstances require pesticide testing it simply isn't necessary. Its just a smokescreen to hope you will go away.
