Forecast - 24 hours (weather and hazard summary)

A bright start with some sunshine across northern and eastern parts of East Anglia but a lot of low cloud and some mist in the southwest. Cloud will extend northeastwards during this morning but should break up somewhat through the afternoon to allow some bright or sunny spells and it will be warm in the sunshine. Mostly dry with clear spells tonight but later in the night a couple of showers will start to drift into the south of the region.

Forecast - 2 to 5 Days (weather and hazard summary)

Sunday: Sunny spells tomorrow but showers will spread northeastwards. Some showers are likely to be heavy with hourly rainfall totals perhaps exceeding 10mm in East Anglia during the afternoon whilst a few lightning strikes are also possible. Showers will die away quickly in the evening and it will be dry with clear skies for the first half of tomorrow night. However, the southerly breeze will pick up during the second half of the night and it will cloud over with outbreaks of rain moving in.

Monday: By Monday morning, heavy, squally rain will have arrived from the west. Everywhere across the ris likely to see a brief period of intense rain as a squall line moves eastwards with hourly rainfall totals of 10-15mm possible. As a result there will be the risk of localised flooding on Monday morning. This will also be accompanied by a short burst of stronger winds with southerly winds gusting close to 40mph before quickly veering westerly and then rapidly dropping once the squall line has passed through and it will also turn much cooler. Becoming brighter with sunny spells on Monday afternoon with scattered showers possible. Dry with mostly clear skies on Monday night.

Tuesday and Wednesday: Another spell of potentially heavy rain and brisk winds are expected later on Tuesday and through Tuesday night. This will clear to leave a bright day on Wednesday with sunny spells and a few showers.

…………and that’s the Anglia forecast from “Gordy1” have a good week-end
