Got quoted 517 for urea this morning. Currently changing my cropping. The price of chemicals is going fast as well, if you can get them, diesel is going to rise as well. I'm not prepared to take the risk.
Beans will go where they can now, milling wheats will be reduced, more legume rush pasture will be sown to feed the cows cheap. So far I have saved over 50 grand in fert. I can always change my mind in the spring if fertilizer prices crash..... I don't think they will.

The ‘Englishman that lives in France’ seems to have bought old stock from a local merchant that has chosen to continue selling that old stock at the price he was charging for it a few months ago, rather than profiteering from the recent price run as most would here.
A good merchant to do business with.👍
Or it might be the case that the frenchman selling to an englishmen has sold the nitram to him at that price because it has sat outside and will come out of the bag in one great big lump!? ;) :ROFLMAO:

Think I’ve just cleaned them out this afternoon 😗.
I know two other farms still no wheat seed until end of next week at the earliest!
why do we home save seed?because in most cases we can produce a better sample and have it ready to sow when we want to . having said that the last new wheat seed we bought was gleam , produced by wynstay and it was excelant. this year we have had to have all new barley seed as ours was not good enough, ordered throgh our agronomist once again wynstay it looks brill, hope it comes well or ill have egg on my face most in the ground now so wont have to wait long to know.

We usually farm save most of our seed and just buy a couple of tons of new seed every now and then if we want a different variety. This year we got 10 days of rain in August which caused some sprouting in two of my varieties and buggered the germination so have had to source seed last minute!
Still managed to save from one of our varieties so not stuck but a bit gutted I can’t get hold of any Lili as it’s been a consistent performer here for the past few years. Got some Gleam and Siskin to try so see how they go.

Used Quantils for quite a few bits and pieces and found them great to deal with, plus I can nip and pick it up from them which is a bonus when you’re half a ton short to finish a field 🤦🏻‍♂️
