You could have gained 6% on Barclays shares in the last 5 days .
Are you trying to tell us that you fancy a career change ? :D
Markets are events led but the question is what's the next
event likely to be and will it be positive or negative to commodities.

not at all, this is a grain price thread so just wondering what the general view of the market is from others to help me make my decision re grain trading, maybe we should have another thread re-share trading ?

Over on Agtalk they are linking the ever increasing
oil price to stronger corn futures so on that basis
the American grain market looks to be getting stronger
which is good news for the rest of us.
Not so good for the cost of inputs though.

Malting was £185 is it back? I don’t think they are that bothered though as most seem to have easily filled their stores this year. Even talk of one buyer rejecting a lot of loads this past week.
Maybe back a bit but think others are still £185…. offer of £180 tonight, feed now £176 rising a pound a ton a month, I have no drier, barley sitting around 18%….. I could bruise it all and sell it in spring maybe, or store it whole with fans in. Or be happy with £180, a Space in the shed, no worries about storage…. It’s tempting and a sure fire way to ensure that feed barley will be £220 by February 😆

Put half away now for malting and bruise the other half? 🤔 can only see feed going one way, apparently big feed store near here that would get all the rejected malt from keith is sitting with 300 tonne when it would normally be 3,000 by this time of year

Feed has jumped a bit then. 168 was mentioned last week. Bit of an issue if you can’t dry it. It won’t keep long at 18%. Let’s face it, when you sowed it you would have a had a fair grin on your face if you knew it was going to be worth £180!

Offered spot feed barley £180 ex farm, feed wheat £195. East Yorks. That merchant is often a £ or two below other merchants.
Hearing £200 for October, more than being offered for December. Sitting on what's left until all open contracts are filled. What are everyone's thoughts on oats and beans?
I hear that HC beans are around the mid £200.00s no idea on oats but my gut feeling is wheat and barley gains will drag them up, for feed and Soya and protein gains will drag beans up. Only spanner in that works is there will be plenty of Wheat distillers if the ethanol plants are flat out

Beans are cheap in the mid £200’s relatively for cattle rations at those cereal prices . I can’t see feed oats being dragged up much as compounders won’t use them
