Frontier haulage

Is it just frontier that are hopeless for getting seed delivered and corn moved this year or are everyone else struggling?

Farmers round here have resorted to going to fetch seed them selves and also been moving grain off farm in tractors and trailers as no lorries.

we’re currently at the stage we’re grain is past it’s movement date and promised (booked) lorries not turning up. I’m seriously thinking of just selling it to someone else and telling frontier tough as they defaulted.

And what’s more annoying is I’ve been a small but fairly loyal customer of there’s for a long time now! Maybe it’s time they lost some of my business to someone else as a wake up call.
Isn't there a truck driver shortage?

Surprised by this thread, thought everyone knew about the chronic shortage of lorry drivers by now and also fuel shortage!

Classic case of a farmer living in a bubble.
The farmers supplying the seed crop and the customers for the bagged stuff both have their own transport. Slow things but effective at moving corn.
Frontier living in a bubble thinking that customers will wait for them to get their arses in gear and not just cancel seed orders and bag a bit up off the heap, or a neighbour's heap. ;)

Prob is everything getting earlier . Use to be drilling well into October . Finished 24 th sep this year . That’s a lot seed bang out in 3 weeks and they don’t work weekends

Well after a few bollockings today from me a lorry turned up.

driver said the issue is poor management and poor rates paid by frontier so hauliers are going elsewhere

Hauliers being screwed over rates used to wind me up. In my previous life the hauliers were literally my arms and legs, Without them I would have been stuffed and pished off multiple people/organisations both ways in the supply chain. Very short-sighted trying to do them out of what they need to make from the job.
