We all have a right to challenge an opinion (which is what a professional's diagnosis is) and on many occasions ought to do so. The OP seems to be asking for advice on how best to go about doing this. What we seem to have here is diagnosis by social media!

Chose to ignore where he said had a full assessment

OP is the one in denial.

While he seems to accept that he was, at one point, under the care of the Mental Health Team- which would only happen if he had a mental health condition- he does not accept their diagnosis.

He also claims to be a clinician but refers to schizophrenia as a disease. It's not a disease, you can't "catch" schizophrenia like the flu, it's a mental illness. Any clinician would know the difference.

Perhaps the Mods should lock this thread as it seems the OP has issues better not aired on a public forum.

Mistakes are made at GP surgeries. At ours there is someone with the same first and last name as me (although both spelt differently) so if I phone up I have to make sure that they have the correct records as they have got us mixed up in the past.

Most GP surgeries ask you to confirm your address.

I read it as he’s contacted the mental health team as they would be the ones to sort it out if it’s a false diagnosis 🤷‍♂️

I’m now renewing my firearms and shotgun license, took the form to my doctors for them to fill in and they promptly relieved me of £50 AND then told me it would take a month and they wouldn’t budge on that . Also what I don’t understand is that I haven’t been to the doctors for ten years in which time I could have become mentally unstable and kept it to myself and they wouldn’t know .

All I did was put down my doctors surgery address and phone number. Why did you take the form in??

A diagnosis of any schizophreniform disorder would require multiple assessments from multiple health care professionals as it is not something that a GP can diagnose, therefore one would expect multiple entries on the patient record. If there is an error in the records then the OP should in the first instance contact their surgery to ask for it to investigated and either corrected or a note added to the record to making it clear that the schizophrenia diagnosis was an erroneous entry. If the GP surgery doesn't play ball then specialist solicitors will usually be required.

and thereby hangs a big mistake in the procedure.

How many, while holding a fac, might reconsider talking to their doctor about 'issues', knowing it might then get back to the law?

(I see the quack so seldom I'm surprised they even know who I am)

Or he may be schizophrenic.

Why would anyone, let alone a supposed health professional, join a Farming forum to ask for advice on a medical misdiagnosis?

Because that’s what they ask you to do now .
I’ve recently just done mine unless Cumbria police use a different form to where you are? This is all I had to fill out about my medical history ect

It’s only £90 every 5 year it’s hardly difficult.. I renewed mine this year and I didn’t even get a interview just a phone call because of covid
I only used to shoot anything if I felt I had to , foxes after lambs ,crows and pigions eating the corn , as I no longer grow corn or keep sheep I don't see the need for one , that's not to say I have any problem with anyone else having one ,
