Sovereignty

Just been reading an article online that shows countries arent sovereign, it's a reposte from the eu commission about a polish courts decision claiming some EU law is contrary to polish law.

In a strongly-worded initial reaction, the European Commission said the decision on Thursday raised “serious concerns”. It reaffirmed that “EU law has primacy over national law, including constitutional provisions”.

The commission added that rulings by the European court of justice are “binding on all member state’s authorities, including national courts”, and said it would “not hesitate to make use of its powers under the treaties to safeguard the uniform application and integrity of union law”.

But lots of remainers claim we were always sovereign when in the EU, just as they claimed there wasnt going to be an EU army etc, as for Westminster might find enough decent honourable folk to fill a double decker bus, I have come to the conclusion we need to change the way we select candidates, vote for them and pay them, politics throughout the world seems rotten to the core,

No, no, the EU doesn't assume 'competences' and all its minions are entirely free to do whatever they want while members - this must be true because so many of its brainwashed supporters tell us so. (y)

I suspect he is reiterating the point because many of us who wanted to leave the EU made this clear many times, but were rubbished for doing so at the time of the referendum, and since. This despite it being manifestly obvious from all EU law - and this just makes it clearer.

Not that it matters, because the EU ignores its own law when convenient.

Thats what we should have done. Stayed in and ignored them when it was convenient for us..........................Been a bit more "gallic" about it.....................................but that wouldnt have been "cricket"

No EU member would accept for one second, the very suggestion of, never mind imposition of, a regulatory or customer border, within its sovereign borders. That would be tangible loss of sovereignty, and on which valued citizens on one side differently than those on the other side. It would be wholly unacceptable!

Now consider the position of the UK!!
Then consider how the very agreement which surrendered in a very practical way its sovereignty, was rammed through Parliment without hint of debate.
There isn’t a single country in the EU, where that could or would happen.
No amount of blather, blarney, guff, legalese, or such like from resident legal counsel, @Danllan can paper over the blatant loss of sovereignty by HMG’s government.

Hang on...! Weren't you one of those saying we had to follow the rules of the 'club', the law, and stick to them not so long ago?

But now you're advocating being in the EU and ignoring EU law... well, in fairness, that does seem to be the 'European' thing to do.

Have a line and stick to it, don't claim some sort of 'moral superiority' one moment and then urge dishonesty the next. This really, is just more dishonesty and hypocrisy; you can't have it both ways, either out or in, and if in follow the rules.

Oh it's you, goody! Any more lies about the ROI / NI covid figures to try and dish out?

You are a receipted liar, hypocrite and would-be sh!t-stirrer; you never answer questions and you don't respond when your stupidity and dishonesty are flagged, you just dodge, you are an utter coward.

And everyone knows this. :)

Hi yes, I appreciate he is Danilan. And I must stop rising to the bait as we move one. Then again I tease also the opposite way. All good fun though. Cheers.

Bless him, but you can’t help but enjoy his input.
Does tend to lose the rag though. Likes to play the man, when the logic of his argument gets shown up. Uses the “sovereignty” card a lot, as a wholly inadequate loin cloth, to disguise the economic folly of the hard Brexit.

The UK is not Germany. We would have and have been fined £100s millions when breaking EU rules.

That's be 'brexit'. Come on, what does sovereignty mean? Can't have a meaningful understanding of whether you have something or not without knowing what that thing is.

You already know. Poland is dealt with one way, whilst Germany another within the EU. Quite apt in your case.

Regardless this is re-running the Brexit referendum. The pretense you don't understand the EU dominates most countries within the EU ? You know.

You’ve lost the sovereignty argument. Full stop. Ask the NI unionists on here. They sure ain’t feeling the warm glow of sovereignty.
As for the economic argument …… 🙄
