I got two 4s earlier this evening from Co-op in Ancaster for 2.20. Love milky coffee and hot chocolate, so go through those in three days. So soz, no less plastic for a larger volume. Can send you a milk jug for Xmas to decant a 4 pinter!!! Old George Monbiot would reckon I am destroying the planet single handed with my milk consumption.

Ying and yang. 2 pints does me for the week, but seeing as Sainsburys made me buy a 4 pinter I'll just pour the other 2 pints down the sink next Saturday. It's a waste of money.

Have a freezer? Freeze what you do not require this wee - while the UK has enough electricity for you to run a freezer. Then let it thaw in your fridge end of week to get some of the energy used to freeze it back for next weeks supply. When the electricity runs out is will be so cold you will be able to leave it outside all day and night and it will last a fortnight. Their you go - the four pinter problem solved!!

Seriously, there are people watching the pennies that don't want bulk. Milk is one of the things that we shouldn't be forcing a minimum spend on.

Maybe Charlie but reality is what reality is. So no 1 or 2 pinters have a look somewhere else of just adapt to life with a 4 pinter. First world problem!!! Pleased you have stocked up on the Kenyan Fine beans - good call. Would hate to be caught out without any.

I think we go through about 20 to 30 pints a week. Too much milk means we get a rice pudding

Currently being punished by Victoria Sponge filled with lemon curd and whipped cream .. with "custard" of whipped cream.

I don't think I've learned my lesson and need to be punished again, several times.

Nah, you should have to look elsewhere if you want 4 pints in a single carton, not if you only want/can afford a single pint.

Go in the veg shop plenty of veg
Go in tha bakers plenty of bread
Everything else turns up in the weekly order form the supermarket.
Looking around though plenty could do with a food shortage, perhaps they should bring back rationing it would save the nhs a fortune and the country would have a surplus to sell

Where exactly are all these supermarket food shortages ?
been down to Exeter for the weekend visiting our student daughter, took her shopping first thing yesterday morning in Tesco, shelves all full at normal levels, travelled back home 250 miles called in at local Supermarket, situation just the same. Yes if you went looking for issues you would find one type of lettuce out of stock, or a particular variety of jam or biscuits but when isn't that the case. the only item thats does seem a little short overall is pasta, but thats been the case since this issue blew up as all the idiots are stockpiling again. In particular there seems to be a plentiful supply of fresh pork, so where is it coming from if the abbatoirs are cutting back production due to lak of staff ? Shelves everywhere are bulging with Halloween tat and Christmas stuff, surely if the supermarkets were truly short of drivers they would concentrate on getting food to the shops and leave the tat in the warehouse ?

Perhaps Subway import most of their ingredients from the EU, in which case they should shop locally. The same applies to supermarkets.

No but I tried Steak Shake instead of cinnamon. It was not intended and certainly a very bad choice.
