100,000 pigs to be destroyed

No idea 🤷‍♀️ , edit , turns out funnily enough ….https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-58863680 a lot want out , theirs a surprise !
“The Law and Justice (PiS) party says it has no plans to leave the EU, but Polish prime minister Mateusz Morawiecki welcomed the ruling and said each member state must be treated with respect and the EU should not be only “a grouping of those who are equal and more equal’’.

He has since tweeted: "Polexit is fake news. A harmful myth, with which the opposition is trying to hide its lack of any ideas for a fitting European position for Poland."

It took Farage how many years and how many lies to persuade the folk of the UK to vote for Brexit in a non binding Advisory referendum I’m not holding my breath about Polexit 🤣🤣

I think it's pointless arguing with some

This thread is quite widely read in the pig farming community and I gather some in Government and it often gets mentioned to me

All I know is if I was an active pig farmer myself (can't be because of my day job) I'd be rolling my eyes at some of the comments on here. What's needed is action and now to alleviate the rollover crisis that's not of the farmer's making . Everything else is just froth or off topic by a country mile
Think henrars point is the the processor should take pigs if its contracted to do so. It's not the farmers fault.

Seems to me that producers upped numbers last year due to asf and Brexit as the processors/purchaser's had a market for them.

Then mid summer the customers had enough of paying more than the international market price for pork, as it was dearer than in europe, so broke their contracts and left the pig farmers in the sh!t. Which allows the seller to make more profit selling foreign pork at the expense of home grown contracted pork.

Exactly so blaming it on brexit and Labour shortage is a big lie, if they told the truth in the first place they would have got on better imo , they turn folk away from their plight with lies that are told to try and discredit brexit and Tory government .

I think every farmer in the Country should say Boris discredited himself with the Marr interview and then repeating the offensive disregard in the Tom Newton-Dunn interview

I don’t agree, he told truth truth hurts .
He didn't. He just said the pigs were going to die anyway and made no distinction between cull / incineration and slaughter for food

What he didn't say was that he's still not got in place the border control posts for meat coming in to this country so any country has unfettered access

Red Tractor been quiet over all of this. They did email producers to say they were aware some were facing issues

And gave another producer an 2 week extension to bird net some feeders
Email from red tractor pigs afternoon sure some one more tech savvy than me can put it up but to sum up they are aware of the situation having regular weekly meetings with defra and extra time will be given to recticy non conformances such as over stocking.

Yes I got that too.
The pig sector chairman is a really good bloke. He led the producers through the last very bad times with great accomplishment.
