Cleaning seed tomorrow, *might* have a look at weekend, first wheat on cleaner ground.
Don't really want to see anything emerged in October, reckon there is a bydv time-bomb ticking for some folks; some horrendous green bridge around, with dd crops well up in rows... some people must be putting insecticide in with the 360:banghead:

I’d always rather have it drilled, rolled and sprayed with pre-em in good conditions a bit earlier than ideal than have it drilled but not sprayed….or worse yet not even get it drilled.

Finished wheat drilling yesterday here, a bit later than planned. Will have all wheat sprayed up just before Monday’s forecast rain.

Then onto bean drilling…

All done tonight, bit of dust coming of the rollers on a couple of bits I wanted to tidy up.

will get it sprayed tomorrow just in case the dreaded COVID comes home from school and we get locked up at home. Then all dad has to do is keep the slugs off it

Started yesterday WW, still plenty damp enough in areas. Should get up together before the rain, got someone coming in to roll up behind me then onto beans

I must admit after the last two year (last year less so but still a stuggle) its nice to have some decent conditions and get everything in.
Agree. I can’t bank on the last 2 weeks on October on clay to be perfect for drilling so we need to Atleast take some cover. I had got very complacent about the weather after a few easy years

Agree the last two years, actually for me the last 4 to a degree, have been rubbish so nice to be drilled up except for one light, fairly weatherproof field waiting on seed.
The only “bonus” and I say that with some caution was that in 2019 it turned wet so early that we got nothing drilled and we couldn’t get anything in so at least we knew where we were and it wasn’t half done and then fending slugs off with no preem and watching it die in water etc
