Had similar here, smashed a hedge back drastically end of February & got loads of hassle - the bits I cut have grown like mad & held finch nests for the first time in quite a few years... the bits I didn't get a chance have almost no new growth & have only appealed to the rats on wings.
I thrashed a hedge back once for a chap turned out it wasn’t his 🙈🤣
Bloke came out ranting you’ve wrecked my hedge you barsteward 🤨🥊

I would like forum members who have experience of these kinds of works (or just operating the required plant) to give a rough estimate of how much this work would have cost the landowner. I know he probably didn't do an adder and watervole survey first but we all know the cost of one of those is eleventy-billion pounds.

Local job here

no wonder feck all gets done
Do you not understand? If the EA do the job properly, 25 people are employed on high wages contributing a huge amount to the economy. After all the surveys and assesments Jack would have been given the job after a prolonged tendering which he probably priced at x thousand as he does not want to faff about for these ****ers
As it is Jack has been sent down there with his 15 tonne machine earning a couple of grand a month and what has the economy gained apart from a a few packets of sarnies from the local garage? And he was probably working on red.
You must keep up at the back!
