Basically the EA have dug through dykes out on the fens and gone through the 370 year old clay liner and gone through the peat underneath..

This isn’t a dyke, it’s The Hundred Foot river and drains most of the Fens, it was Vermuyden’s main scheme and is integral to the drainage of 300,000 acres
