fertilizer crisis

There is a price that is too much to pay for fertiliser, I suppose that depends a bit on your other cost structure though.

I am not sure what to do, Nordstream 2 may lower the price of gas a bit, how long before the need for CO2 will make AN and Urea a waste product though?

I have about a quarter of the fertilizer that I need for next year in the shed, I simply can't afford to buy any at the current prices, being mainly in pigs doesn't help that, at least I have the muck though.

I’m continually shocked at the price rises.i bought some little over £500 which is massivly too dear but heard of nitrogen yesterday at £678 which gives me a bit of comfort.luckily only wanting 32 ton but still worrying.can see for 22/23 growing year lots of spring barley going in as it will be cheaper to grow.really don’t know when this will end but I can foresee food shortages and massive price hikes in everything too.bought some diesel yesterday fir pick up and 151.9.most I’ve ever paid and it’s only going one way.

I think the UK public will balk at the increase in energy prices.

A lot of UK jobs will go with energy prices as high as they are likely to be.

HMG just does not have the money to attempt to tackle the Energy Crysis, "Climate Change", recover from Covid 19, HS2, "Level Up" and deal with Brexit.

All of the problems I highlight are due to incompetance in government. They don't know if CO2 is increasing temperatures and by how much, or Methane, or Water, or human development, or indeed anything else. They don't know what to prioritise or when.

The reason for all of these problems is because Government and the Civil Service do not understand how things work because they are not interested and cannot be bothered. There is a complete detatchment between government policy and reality.

For example most student loans will not be paid back. Government and the Civil Servce are CR@P.

Filled up at a Asda fuel station before the 'fuel shortage' @ 132.7 filled up the week after the panic buying at same price and it's still that price now, others around are upto 10p dearer so there must be alot of profiteering

Want a farmer to buy, put the price up.
Want a farmer to sell, bring the price down.

They know what they're doing and most are always happy to oblige.

If the price for produce isn't right and the produce can be held back. Hold it back, even if it's for a few weeks.

Grain should be near £300 a tonne at the moment, you don't see grain merchants being shy of passing on price cuts or docking the price you negotiated.

Usual response on here and by the British public in general.

Blame someone else for our problems.

Whatever the gas and oil price, and availability, the world leaders are going to eventually knock their heads together and get nitrogen fertilizer available and onto farms and growers all over the world at an affordable price. The fact is that without artificial fertilizer ,lots of people are going to starve. And the riots and civil unrest, even wars will be inevitable.
