No understand what your saying, and i'm a firm believer in the liveweight and would love to see Thirsk and other marts getting 300-600 cattle every week like they used too, but the buyers just aren't there to take those numbers now, and supermarkets would rather have empty shelves or sell foreign that come to a live market and actually bid for cattle and compete with other buyers!!!
They are not their because they don’t need to be , if they needed to be they would turn up by hook or by crook .

Back from gisburn bulls clean absolutely mental how people are selling good clean deadweight in the north I really do not know ?!!!!!!!!!! Either thick or naive !!! Cows more money too today a good trade !! I was told thirsk Darlington very dear too !!! If u have yards of good meat cattle in the north and ur not going live why lol 😂! Cows in gisburn a flyer really too!

I prob shouldn’t say so much as could get grief but if it was the other way round I’d say that too I only write what I see each week up and down if I offend I’m sorry !!
Do you write the report for Gisburn?

Maybe you auctioneer there?

I’ve been selling at Gisburn for 30 years and I’ve never felt the need to big it up,it’s a quarter of the mart it used to be.

It’s happening,Dingwall was hard work yesterday. £100+ back on the week.
Unfortunately it was going too happen, inputs are just far too high! The decent beef price is being swallowed up straight away! I’m down too 1 beef shed fill out of 3, got 1 sheds worth of suckled calves too come in at the weekend but I’m not mad keen at going filling the other one. 😥

Lambs from Lazonby Third sale on Wednesday. First time back there in 11 years, avg £112. Took old boss for a day out too one of his old haunts. Good day was had by all and not a bad sample of lamb really. They should grow. 👍 Get a Rouge tup on them next month and the jobs a good un!
