I was at an AI day last week with a few of us getting work done and one young guy had 3 tups from the same farm all infertile !
What is wrong is it something in the feeding or just the amount they are fed ? They were BFL and from a top breeder !!
He will probably get £30/40,000 for blackie tups in the next few days. So yes he is still a top breeder and folk will still buy his stock.Q. Is he still a ‘top breeder’ if he’s churning out lots of jaffas?

I would think it is more likely to be something in the feedI was at an AI day last week with a few of us getting work done and one young guy had 3 tups from the same farm all infertile !

Let them carry on stuffing the fat b4stards then and those on more forage based systems will win in the endOverfeeding of concentrates causes organ damage leading to permanent damage of organs such as testes and kidneys due to their labyrinth of fine tubules and to blood vessels in the testes supplying the vital sperm production tissue. A change in diet may save these rams, but don't expect them to be back to 100%.
Excessive overfeeding can lead to liver failure resulting in sudden death. In such instances useful semen cannot be retrieved directly from the testes of the dead ram while still warm, as the semen has very low viability having been produced abnormal and/or "cooked" in waiting.
What usually happens is people do cop on and stop buying from these breeders then you see a dispersal sale when there getting hard to sell rams at big moneyLet them carry on stuffing the fat b4stards then and those on more forage based systems will win in the end
