Subaru Outback

Both the Forester and Outback are great. They have the highest safety ratings and arguably one of the best safety systems (Eyesight, which comes standard in every Subaru atleast here). A bit Japanese on the inside, but reliable and quite nice to spend a day in. I have a 2019 Forester.

2014 forester here, wifeys car. She loves it and it does what it says on the tin. It gets an annual service and MOT and apart from putting fuel in has never needed touched in between times apart from a battery last year.

The "eyesight" feature is great, if you are a distractable / young driver it may save your life.

Whats that
Basically a lane keeping assist, adaptive cruise control and emergency brake assist. Others do it with radar, Subaru with two cameras. Also reads the signs. I almost hit a reindeer a ~year ago. I smashed the brake but the car felt like it wasn't enough and pulled the pedal all the way back.

Also great when you're in the city centre driving behind a 80 year old lady and at the same time looking for cyclists. Saved me from crashing the grannys car when she suddenly hit the brakes. 😬
