Mine is a Nissan, never noticed it regen ever and not had any bother with it either (apart from an engine light that I am ignoring)

Same I’ve never noticed a regen on ours! No “stop start” button on the navara either which is a blessing!

I'm on 4th Isuzu, and never had an issue with any of them. Only do about 8000miles per year though, and tend to change at 5 or 6 years.
Never had a problem with a vehicle, so cannot help op in seeing a way out of it other than legal route....

Sounds like my local Toyota dealer SLM.their attitude is appalling.when my truck was serviced I had a few issues that I was told would be sorted but nothing was done.I wrote to managing director who tried to bulls**t me with his mechanical knowledge which was rubbish and he never had a clue what he was on about and he backed down when I told him I’d been repairing and maintaining plant and machinery for 40 plus years.I asked to look at a vehicle last November and despite numerous calls from me and face to face meetings with sales managers it’s never happened.several of the staff are worse than useless and sales people have the easiest job in the world selling cars.they sit and wait for customers to come in.I sympathise with the original poster but if his dealer is as bad as SLM Toyota near me I really don’t know what to reccomend short of big signs outside dealership explaining issues.if they loose you as a customer there are plenty more who will come along.

Can’t be…..mine regens every 100 bloody miles. My bets are on Nissan, every one around here seems to be bother.
Same here, worried about the pending mot in February as its permanently got an engine management light on. Its run like a bag of sh!t since new. Time for a swap I think, not sure if to try the new model or not?

WTF should we buy as a replacement pickup then....? Serious question.

Nothing, repeat nothing will beat my first twincab, a Chevrolet badged Isuzu, aka GM bitsa. that was imported from Cyprus. 2.8 TD Isuzu engine as found in Troopers, sold it at 100k miles at 10yrs old, and still going strong.

A real workhorse, and it sold me on LWB vehicles for towing stock trailers.

Not keen on the 1.9 but they all seem to have their issues, mines due a swap aswell but this is not the year. Hopefully prices will settle at some point.

Sounds like my local VW can centre. Took my Amarok in for its first service and they replaced all four tyres without asking at £190 each. I just walked out of the dealership and kept the loan vehicle. Took them 4 days before they contacted me to resolve it which resulted in 4 free tyres as they’d disposed of mine.
That sounds familiar. Sent my L200 in for it's first MOT and they phoned to say it had passed, but the battery had failed the additional free 20 point vehicle check  but they could fit a new one for £175 o_O Surprisingly, I declined the offer.

4 years on and the original battery is still going strong, but the dealer's gone bust.

Make up your own punchline.

well that sounds familiar to my l200. Battery died one day wouldn't do a thing no lights left on or anything as it beeps at you if you do the slightest bit wrong. Had to charge it, ran it for 400 miles no problem then died again a couple of days later. Left it charging that night and its been fine since. Also had 2 trips to dealer for DPF regen, both times after motorway journeys (400mile round trip), both times needing new oil and filters.

Ordered a new pickup dec 2020, arrived 30th June, electrical problem and air bag fault on way home from dealership. They came to collect the pickup after 3 or 4 calls, they wanted me to book the car in rather than come to collect it. They left me with a car not a pick-up and kept mine for 3 or 4 days and returned it with body work damage on the drivers side passenger side and dinted rear bumper. They hired me a pickup while mine went to the body shop. Pick-up came back I drove off, same airbag light came on as last time, they took it back and it took approximately 10 weeks to get parts. They hired me a pickup for this period, collected my pickup again and the same day it started a regen on the dpf not even done 100 miles it has done this 14 time since I have had it, it has done 1400 miles. The car has been back again to the dealership for a day and a half with no success in resolving the matter. They have changed the fuel filter and taken fuel samples. the speakers work intermittently on the drivers side front and back which the pickup has been back for and has not been resolved, and now there is a problem with the sat nav. I am left with a vehicle that has repeated regeration problems, speaker problems and satnav issues. All are still not resolved .
There has been lots of phone calls and time wasted in trying to resolve these issues and has all been very amicable but there is a lack off contact on there side. I have sent numerous emails to try to get the problems resolved and still haven’t been contacted by the dealer principal. All the dealership seem to want me to do is keep repeatedly booking it in without the matter being resolved. I have contacted the manufacturer and they said they cannot help it all has to go through the dealer.
I have asked for a replacement as I have lost complete faith in this vehicle, they have offered me market price for the pick-up but don’t seem to seem to understand I have waited 6 months for this pickup and I can’t take there money and drive away with a new pickup from a garage the way things are at the moment.
I what can I do or would you do?
What is market price?,,, more than you paid, I would take the money and buy a used one if need be.
