The coming famine

Not overly difficult though is it?

Biden shouldn’t be in charge of a public toilet never mind the US
Johnson is a booster who wings everything
Macron is ... well, French
Merkel has gone and the Germans can’t decide what to do now
Who knows who is in charge in Italy
And the rest are in charge .
Fixed that for you .

Famine in this country would do us all in the farming industry good. I know I can feed myself from the garden and farm on a limited diet and I am sure if I have not got it a friend will have!. Let the masses starve and they may appreciate us and there gardens.

I would be quite upset if my non farming friends died from mass starvation

Came across these recently whilst sorting through my dads stuff. Always grown some tatties and fruit in the garden, and will try and find time to grow more next year. Plenty of food grown in Blighty, but leaving the distribution of it in the hands of Tesco and the next generation of clowns makes me nervous.....

Holy Moly .... first item on BBC 6 o’clock news ...

Afghan family selling a baby so they can feed the rest of their family.

What a time to be alive
Exactly why I don’t watch the news, at all.

Its of no concern to me whatsoever what an Afghan family does with their baby. Which they shouldn’t have had in the first place if things were that bad.
News = endless negative crap. I’m not sure who’s the bigger bunch of arseholes. The government or the media.

When the ground is dry enough to travel on?

More serious answer, I am sure composting muck then spreading the compost will do far more good, I just have no clue how to compost muck to create something that will really feed the soil biology, and then next question is, will NVZ zone rules apply to biologically active compost too? As I believe the benefit is not in the volume of N, P & K, rather it's ability to stimulate the soil biome to function.
Too make compost make a midden 8/9 ft wide and 5 ft high and as long as you like.
Just move it, outside of midden to the middle, middle on top/ outside, to make another midden. Keep moving it, 4/5 times or about once a month.

I will opt for the media closely followed by the politicians . Agree with the rest .

So compost is better than well rotted fym ?
I believe it is (but never tried it!), I think because compost stimulates the soil biome so you need less to do more.

I stayed on a bio dynamic farm in Taranaki (New Zealand), they told me about the preparations they used, I was polite so didn't tell them it sounded a lot of hooey, however the share milker agreed with me, but he told me, somehow it seemed to work! Now I wonder if it worked because the preparations worked by stimulation the soil biome rather than what was in them in terms of kg N/Ha etc.
