Agronomist out yesterday walking winter barley. He’s seemed fairly confident price will fall a good bit as long as people don’t all panic buy and firm the price. Don’t think they’re shifting much at the minute
Heard on Friday that one of our local merchants would normally have sold 6 thousand tons by this time have only sold two.

But when it’s over £600/t I bet the margin is much better 😉
It’s not all about tonnes.
I m not sure I would like to be selling fert at the moment. The risk must be enormous. Will the boat load arrive as promised?
Will farmers buy when you land it if the price goes down, can they pay if the price goes up?

I am sure there will be more losers than winners through out the supply chain this year.

I think it may fall a bit, these are silly prices at the moment. But im pretty sure we wont see prices beginning with a 2 for a long time,if ever.Theres not enough being made worldwide.

I would 100% agree. It has nothing to do with panic buying for a start, so they have already shown they are not in touch with reality.
Some have a very good understanding of the situation and will be proactive with growers, discussing their needs and where savings can be made and alternatives. This is what separates agronomists from sales people.

If they knew what the fertiliser market was going to do, they'd be making a lot more money in the commodities market. I think its dangerous to start advising on when to buy when one has no idea what they are talking about. The limit of their involvement should be "ideally you'll need this many tonnes for your crop"

I'm with you on this one. A little knowledge is dangerous.
