How much are stockfeed swedes worth?

Too busy this side of Xmas, but in the new year I may have some stockfeed swede to sell. Over size from culinary swedes.

Not sold any for 20 years, used to do 6 ton loads & either tipped or scattered in the field.

How much should a 6 ton load be worth?

Your a sensible Man Neil, how much.

As said can't move them before Xmas & they might end up at a veg proccesor yet so can't actually sell them.

Just looked at Ashley Waller sales report £40 fodder beet last April, wow. have some oversize beetroot & potatoes too. No wonder stockfeed potato buyer man gave me some saugages.

i suppose i live in an arable area......beet become more available as season goes on plus all the beet boys seem to lift their fodder beet late after their sugar beet which makes no sense to me...i suppose i'm also quoting what i'd pay

No compounders seem to want to price sheep fed yet, but I think a lot will have a shock when they start asking later in the season. I can’t see that £30/t would be out of the way at all personally, for what is a reasonable DM, high energy feed.

Who knows? If cereals keep travelling skyward, beet (& your swedes) will track behind.

But you’re a dealer, buying volume, and looking to make a margin out of the job.
@Devil's advocate is presumably looking to sell it himself locally, in small quantities. Your £25/t for a lorry load is surely £30/t from him, purely for the hassle of small loads, dealing with more people, etc.

If he's selling local then yes but Swedes be a bit cheaper than beet as it's a fair bit wetter
