hose crimping machine

I'm looking to upgrade, from the old Gates vertical type. For a £1,000 one could buy a 240volt single phase open horizontal type with up to 2" capacity with a full set of dies. They're on Alibaba or Made in China.. exactly the same machine imported and sold in the the UK for £3000..

I have 2 finn power's, a hand held pump mobile one and a static.

I really like the handheld finn for quick joining although it is heavy, you wouldn't just be throwing it over your shoulder. Think it was about 2.5ish 3 years ago. A battery operated mobile unit would be the job but hand pump is more than ample for small usage.

The static finn does exactly what it says on the tin.

Hansa Flex are a pretty good bet to buy off.

I have an old Hydralok manual swager, its capacity is for hoses up to about an inch, but I find it best for fixing hoses up to about half inch, beyond that I start to wonder if I'm getting enough crimping pressure to really compress the larger diameter ferrules. The parts are dirt cheap from loads of places on the net. I use Hydraulic Megastore, they're cheap enough to justify getting in loads of different sizes of ferrules and inserts so you can have a decent chance of fixing whatever you need on the fly. For larger diameter stuff, or jobs where safety is critical (lifting equipment for example) I tend to either use my local firm if in a hurry, or the Hydraulic megastore pipe making service, if I have more time, they can have a hose with you next day if you pay extra for delivery. My swager is very similar to this one:

Has anyone on here any experience of buying from China? Some stuff is sold with delivery to the shipping port in China, there is a term for it? And the buyer has to pay arrange the rest of the delivery. Friend used to import quad bikes years ago..and all he had to do was pay up front, and arrange the transport of the shipping container from the UK port to his yard

if you can find it on aliexpress then buy it off there. its a sub-brand of alibaba, basically ebay but slower.

Hydroscand hand pump here, goes up to 1 inch multi spiral and reasonably portable to sort pipes that are still on a machine. Think it cost about £1500 but don’t buy their hose, absolute rubbish.. most hose is terrible quality it seems and only lasts a few years. A good while ago I cut up some long Gates hoses from an old 80’s tractor loader and used them to re-plumb my frontline loader.. still in perfect order with no cracking yet. Even got one original pipe on a mid 60’s loader, gates again! Just can’t seem to get that quality now, my 5 year old gates hoses are cracking up already.

I've been looking at those hose machines on aliababa as well. I wonder what the line borers are like, something no one round here does anymore.

Have you looked in to these any more
Its not so simple or cheap.. to import stuff from China, the advice I've been given is to find the product and supplier, get a price crated and delivered to a port in China. Then use a "Forwarding " company from the UK to do the importing, shipping, customs, etc and maybe arrange the final courier from the UK port to me. Can anyone advise us ?
