Navara Tuning

Hi

Has anyone had the Litchfield remap on a new Navara, as I am contemplating getting it done, as the map appears to improve the power curve to a more usable level, and it is not serious money, and claims the fuel economy improves also:

Owning a two year old Navara auto I cannot really see the need for a remap as the power and performance is brilliant compared to any other truck I recently demoed. these modern engines of just over 2 litres are producing an awful amount of power and torque, I personally wouldn't want to push them any harder. Economy on the Navara aint bad either, service and back up From dealers and Nissan is another (long)story though!

I've never got my head round remapping. Surely if it's that simple to improve mpg and power then it would come out the factory like that?
The way I understand it is that the engines are programmed to all run within safe parameters for any climatic conditions it may find it's self in. This could be negative degrees in the Arctic to 50°c's in the Sahara. With all vehicles programmed the same in the factory.

Re Mapping just modifies some of the parameters to regional conditions (UK) where it is unlikely to see 50° c so less likely to need the engine to run in those conditions.

Sorry to resurrect an old thread but just wondering did anybody ever get a navara re mapped?? I have one and I carry a lot of weight in the back all of the time and the extra power would be nice.

Im toying the idea of getting mine done ,,its a 3ltr so stands at 231 bhp now but my garage manager said it can easily go to 280 and its just plug and play

Plug and play maps just leave you riding around with a grenade with the pin out under the bonnet imho. Proper custom map on rolling road is what you want and by someone who knows what they are doing

This thread has reminded me what it must have been like at the Track Marshall factory when they made the TM 135 and then the 155 all using basically the 90 backend. “I’m sure it will be fiiiine” I bet they said!
