Kerb/Astrokerb

Is there any difference in OSR yield between Kerb/Astrokerb/not sprayed? Any data somebody can point me towards please?
Don't know about kerb but I'm pretty sure that when ive used it clomazone has knocked the crop and cost yield.

Any patches around poles or headlands not sprayed had taller, stronger better coloured and most importantly CSFB free plants.

Not herbicide as such but anything that makes a plant weaker. I had some trouble spreading a autumn fert blend on rape a few years ago and where the fert had under dosed the rape was destroyed by beetle where the fert had over dosed and produced big strong plants, they were untouched by beetle.
I've seen similar with pre em clomazone spray misses had no beetle because I assume they were bigger stringer plants.

Seen similar in barley that was planted after pre seed burn down with round up. Part field sprayed to empty out the sprayer and it emerged four days later and never caught up. Not sure on yield difference thou. Monsanto claim it’s degraded on contact with soil. Any chemical is a poison so it’s to be expected

interesting thought……

We spot sprayed some kerb last wk, plus the ends. Fields look fine. Noticed a neighbour doing their OSR around same time, whole fields. These fields don’t look very good now, lot of yellow leaves.
maybe just a varietal trait, or time of the season but we’ve not really had any frosts yet bar a couple of very light ones the mornings following the spraying. I was wondering if the yellowing was something to do with the spray

I agree. The only thing that works to control csfb (chems, fancy companion cropping, etc) is when the plant grows faster than the csfb can eat it. Anything that holds the plant back will help the beetle.

Propyzamide treated OSR is often stunted in the overlaps despite also receiving double N. However I have never seen any significant difference in spray misses that haven't received Kerb at all vs most of the field that has received the label rate.
