Help me decide

I need some help deciding what my next tractor will be, I’m pushed for time so need this sorted this week.
yesterday I drove above 2 hours to look at a claas arion 640, 57 plate, 5500 hrs, quicke loader, fairly tidy but needs a couple of little jobs doing. I’ve never even sat in a claas before so didn’t really know what expect. Its fairly straightforward to drive so I took it for a drive up the road to see how it went, all seems fine and the suspension is way way better than anything I’ve been in.
All sounds ok up to now and although technically bigger than what I need none of us ever moan about having too power.
My only reservation is when search the net, and this site there’s so many horror stories of these claas it’s putting me off, I only run one tractor so breakdowns can quickly get inconvenient.
My other problem is I fell in love with a tractor while wondering around the dealers yard, they have in a 53 plate, 9k hour fendt 412. I have a thing for 4cl handy tractors and this is exactly that. The sensible side of me says the claas is better for job, and the fendt doesn’t ride anywhere near as well, is quieter tho and I’d have more confidence in the fendt reliability. No loader tho which although not essential is always handy.

The main work is road work pulling max 10 ton, powering the jetter & gravel trailer with the occasional ploughing etc.

Will someone please either put my mind at rest with the claas or tell me to buy the fendt cause I really can’t make my mind up, or find me something else for under £30k.

We’ve got 12 Claas tractors and telehandlers all UK spec bar one. Some of our Axos tractors are touching 13000 hours two Ares tractors have 15000 hours and 11000 hours respectively. We have had no major issues with any of them. My son has spent the summer with Claas and nothing he has seen makes me change my mind about buying more of them. We also have some New Hollands and John Deeres so we aren’t totally brainwashed but don’t worry about buying a Claas.

Get the 412, you said yourself you fell for it. Life’s short enough, get the one you want and enjoy it. Those era Fendts are pretty bullet proof and in all probability if you look after it well and keep it tucked away at night, it’ll probably appreciate!

The Claas is a brilliant tractor, great gearbox etc. It will give you the odd hick up and head scratching moment along the way,but then what colour tractor doesn’t
I know several Arions 640 with over 12k on clock and still used daily

I guess these are the tractors.

Class looks tidy and you get alot for the money. I'm a fendt man but wouldn't have the 412 as it doesn't have TMS.

Did you look at this whilst there?

Or

That 6480 with a new set of tyres would be a good bus!

Both look good tractors, but I would go with the younger model with lower hours to try make it last as long as possible. The Claas are very good on the road and even though they use a mixture of parts from other brands they have been around for a long time. As you said the front loader even though not needed is always handy or could be sold for sold to get some money back.

I have had 5 Fendts over the years, every one has been a good tractor, but no TMS these days is a deal breaker. @ste stuart buy the tractor you really want to drive and if you want a Fendt get one with TMS there are plenty out there

A quick look on farmers trader I came up with alot of options for £25k - £30k price range

Several 20 and 30 series JD's with sensible hours. NH TS and T60 models, Valtra N series, MF 5400 and 6400 and various other brands. Plenty of choice out there but what I wouldn't do is rush in to buying something I'm not sure about.
