Always works here no slug pellets ever used but watch it carefully when the rape has diedView attachment 993612
The osr volunteers were knee high at drilling time.
Still can't quite believe it.
Wasn't brave enough not to pellet though.
Got mega populations here in every scenario.
Wet summer and Romney marsh equals lots of slugs
Around here usually the wheat is 2 leaf or bigger and the temperature is lower
imho the notill ground has less slugs after a few years because the ground is firmer
there are also more insects beetles and worms which attract flocks of crows and pigeons which then eat the slugs
but most of all the slugs are random feeder so if there is plenty of other food they find that first
fields after beans are a higher risk due to very little vegetation at drilling
