Income Streams

Evening
Looking for some realistic input on alternative income streams for a 60 acre tenanted farm.
Have 80 breeding ewes sell lambs as store.
I work ft so needs to fit in with that.
We are next to a busy road, I’ve done planning pre app and they support a farm shop type of venture. We have a range of traditional buildings.
We already sell a few eggs from 50 hens and I will get more hens.
My thoughts are a simple self service for eggs and other food stuffs in part of a shed / converted trailer. We have a massive farm yard so plenty of space.
LL is supportive of sensible solutions.
Thoughts welcome

If in a area with tourists then a cc site, any buildings that small one man businesses could use ? Liveries can be a good earner and sell them hay and to other owners too. A lot depends on the area you live in. You want things that dont take up your time too much

A really good self serve coffee machine! But it has to be a really good one that serves good coffee and some warm pastries in a hot box.
At the side of a busy road it really should have no problem attracting the passing traffic, could even try to incorporate some sort of drive thru element.

Although it would require a bit of mothering throughout the day which might not suit with working full time.

I was talking to a chap the other day, he has a large road going by, has put up a burger van using his own beef, buying in bacon etc, it’s going very well.

Too far from here for me to try it☹️

Definitely the way to go if you have fair few folk passing about , takes the pee out of other options with the small outlay to start the job .
If you have top end cattle home bred cattle though you might be better off selling them on and buying in poorer/cheaper cattle to put through the van .

Coffee sold in this way has the highest retail margin of virtually any product you can mention. The trick of it is getting multiple machines and getting the stuff over the counter as rapidly as possible. You see folk queuing for coffee in Costa and it makes me wince how much that is costing them in lost sales and it is so labour intensive.

The places literally churn my stomach on the raw coffee smell,
don't know how people can work in there all day I would be ill with it 🤮🤮
