Just saw a post on Facebook,
"John Deere are gone too expensive, think I'll have to buy a Fendt instead."
Such tunnel vision 🤡
Out of FG x7-690 225hp 150hrs, powershift trans, 6hyd valves, front links, guidance ready, screen £98k… I don’t know how to compare specs exactly as I don’t understand how comparable that is to other companies offerings but sounds like NH/case money?

In these times of soil protection maybe getting into the tracklayer niche might be worthwhile? Something basic ish on tracks and take on challenger which seem to have lost their way with reliability with the current models(?) i don’t know what engines you use but if they’re well known and you put a ZF or similar gearbox behind it….
Correction on the engines used following a message from Mccormick technical. Tier V X2, X3 & X4 are Kohler engines. Tier IV X2 & X3 were Yanmar. Deutz engines in the Orchard and Vineyard models.

Are you actually fupping serious? They needed a fortnight old cow cleaning spooned through their letterbox..
i would actually take the dealers side on that, as long as they did their best to get the problems sorted quickly and efficiently. if you buy a land rover you expect problems, regardless of its age (unless you know nothing about vehicles). its not the dealers fault that they are so poor quality

Quite a few brands have FPT engines and ZF transmissions, these surely have a good reputation?

So where does it go wrong with these brands? And yes I would buy a McCormick if the price was right!
FPT/iveco and cummins are the best engines out there imo. I think mccormick's biggest problem is that new holland are very similar price wise a lot of the time, albeit possibly not spec for spec.

if interest rates rise i expect we will see a lot more mccormicks around, as the cost of money for the extra £40k or so for a "premium" brand will much more significant.

mccormick is a hard sell to a NH or case user like myself, so most mccormick sales are probably to JD/fendt customers who dont like their like-for-like replacement prices but hate CNH for whatever reason (know of several who hate CNH, quite unjustifiably IMO)

Got 3 ttx 230’s and I’m quite happy with them the majority of the time. They’ve their things that go wrong like 2nd powershift clutch basket breaking but easy to split and weld again and pto clutch packs aren’t the hardiest but of the 8000 hours I’ve done with them so far they’ve cost less than a £1 an hour in repairs and £1 for servicing. We do repairs and servicing ourselves so saves a good bit. A comfy tractor that anyone can jump on and go.

Bet they never said about their issues BEFORE someone bought them.

TBH I’d expect very little actual product knowledge from a car garage sales person, it’s not like agriculture where the customers through the gate are relatively few in numbers and a salesman should know as much about a powerharrow as a roundbaler.

The car guys are well versed in the art of making the thing seem affordable first.
