From what I remember reading years ago the designer for the Te Pari HD3 left them and made the Clipex with improvements over the original. No idea if true.

Clippex not compatible with shearwell kit if that’s an issue ( was for us). Also the te pari is useless for horned sheep as the horns can catch the eye cables and knock them off ( at £100 odd each ) the magic eyes are also vulnerable when moving the te pari on a rough road as they are just held on by magnets ( we tape ours on when moving around). If moving around I think the clippex is better thought out but I have never used one.

not quite sure why tho, surely your psion talks and works with the weigh head ?? its the weigh head that works the handler ? and the clipex is configured for a weigh like yours says so in the manual.

or does the psion talk directly to your tepari? bypassing the weigh head .?

No idea , tbh I am useless with anything electronic but was told the same by both Clippex and Shearwell.
quotes I got was 18.5k for mobile clippex and 22.5k for mobile hd4, both similar in spec other than the te pari sheds 4 ways not 3. Had I decided to go ahead with the grant and change my hd3 I was going to go for the clippex, but I did not want to change away from my psion and Shearwell. Also the grant was less than I hoped .
If you go for clippex they did offer a free hand held trutest recording device and free software.

No psion bypasses the weigh head and talks to the handler directly. Psion also talks to the tag reader directly (it has 5 Bluetooth ports!). Spent about an hour on the phone to shearwell yesterday sorting it out.

Did they say if they were still going to be supporting TePari users, even though they no longer sell them?
They don’t have a great reputation for working with other companies…

Have you ordered your fancy schmantzy handler yet?

Didn’t ask the question. I was using a customers. I won’t be ordering one, and I’m looking at transitioning the customer over to AgriWebb as it’s cloud based. I’m shocked Farmworks isn’t tbh.

Isn't the Clipex roughly the same price as the trailer TePari HD4, but £3-4k more than the static TePari?
Quote I got from Te pari for the Hd3 was £21246 and Clipex was £18000. Clipex price includes ID5000 in the price where as Te Pari it was an extra. I've used the Hd3 and loved it but if theres buggar all difference I can't really justify the extra cost.

I'd really advise looking at the HD4,
unless the latest hd3 also has the pneumatic auto backing gate on the lead up ramp

I've got a 2016 HD3 and really wish it had that backing gate!

Another £1300 for an hd4 is a no brainer.

The clippex has a very clever way of holding the next sheep in place using the side wall, also the clippex ejects the lamb in the clamp by forcing it out with a flap as opposed to a jet of air on the te pari which looks to me to be more effective, just a shame about shearwell compatibility

How many sheep are people running to justify spending over £20k on one?
At the moment 1000 but want to get up to 3000 hence the reason for a Te pari/Clipex, having the wrong equipment can make such a difference in efficiency I don't want to make the wrong choice, I'm normally all for spend more on the better piece of kit but i just don't see enough of a difference between the two
