The NI/ROI Protocol

the channel tunnel is about 80M deep at it lowest point, the NI/Scotland would need to be near 200M deep as your going thu the deep part of the irish sea. that alone make it alot hard to build, but not impossible.
I'm sure it would be a challenge and to be honest cant see the economic justification but I expect they said that about the seven tunnel etc at the time

anyone see the numbers for the Link between NI/GB

£208 BILLION for the tunnel and
£335 BILLION for a bridge

and given that most government projects go well beyond their planned cost's, this is just the starting point of what you need to pay to build it.

If its European I'd look into getting it via the South.
I've found it easier getting some things from Europe to Scotland via ROI and NI than to get them direct.

Sounds crazy, but ROI can be a handy stepping stone since we left the EU.
It's a Morris headgate, so it's from the UK
I live in ROI, I was hoping I could get it into NI first but I don't know what how the whole customs thing works or what charges there is

There is a free trade agreement between UK and EU, so there is no customs duty to be paid when you import from UK, including from NI.
You will however have to pay VAT, in UK side, plus the differential between VAT rates between UK and ROI. If say VAT in UK in that product is 15% you will be charged that by the UK supplier. If the VAT is 20% in ROI, you will pay the difference (5%) in ROI.
Any chance Morris have an agent in NI? If they have, that would be the most convenient way for you to get your hands on it.
