What make of tyres are they, to only last 21k miles which is nothing. Tyres should last 3 times that mileage. unless damaged. just my 2p worth.....
Read it again, I'm not sure he's saying the tyres have only done 21k. Brake wear quoted at 21k. Tyres due this week. 2 separate statements?

My issue is , range and charging time .
When at home, leave vehicle on charge, then it's always full. I've leased a Polestar 2 at reasonable cost and a lot less than previous diesel engined LR products. Did longish trip, Yorkshire to Salisbury. One charge en route both ways. More than enough top up in half hour stop to refresh etc. Biggest problem is the chargers. On way down first 2 rapid chargers didn't work which caused some anxiety! On way back and using apps properly no probs at all. Even on a public charger was only £11 for 200 mile top up. Charge free on solar at home. Not all plain sailing but manageable and fun too. Not done for green reasons at all, purely financial.

Something must be very wrong to need brakes after only 21k. 50-60k is normal for auto boxes I think. Is there any motor braking on a electric car ??.
If there is why are brakes worn after such low miles.

Tyres are Continental Contact Sport. I've been impressed with 21k to be honest. Previous car would eat a pair of front tyres by 15K given the roads I'm on mainly, and how I drive, which may not be sympathetic- and that was a 2 wheel drive 150bhp car. This is a 400bhp 4x4 which weighs 2.5t.

What tyres do you buy that last 60K miles???

It doesn't need brakes. They are 21% worn, according to the dealer report, which I find very optimistic. At that rate, it won't need pads till 100k...

The motors recuperate on deacceleration- when you're driving in the efficiency mode, the car senses when your in traffic, or approaching a junction/roundabout, and starts re-charging the battery by slowing you down ahead of it. Takes some getting used to, but can help improve range.

General Grabber usually. Best set lasted 85k. Those were at2's. The current at's won't be far behind. On another vehicle I've got Goodrich mud terrain, I've done 40k ish. But bought second hand,so don't know what they did before I had them. About half worn now.

I get where you're coming from, and agree- and I own my pick up, which does 5-10K miles a year. The lease car with me is doing 40K+ miles a year- not many cars would last the 10 years your pick up has, or the 6 years my LR has for that matter, doing that sort of miles.
You do 40k miles a year in your car and 10k in the ute?
Do you do anything other than drive?

Total pain having to stop. 5min p break and away you go. An hour stopping time plus messing about finding a charger makes a journey of that distance borderline possible in a day.

I could never get anything like that out of either grabbers or bfg. What were you doing - carpet farming on a large scale?😆

Tbf, I suspect vehicle, type of use, road type, etc all play a part.

I'm disappointed with under 60k from a set of tyres (and at least 80k from a set of brake pads) but then I drive like a grandad these days.

Oh, I AM a grandad.... :ROFLMAO:

I did "efficient driver training" several times while at the EA. Our car always reports much longer remaining fuel range after I've driven it than after Mel has :ROFLMAO:

My mate has a BMW hybrid (3 litre twin turbo with battery-assisted foolishness) and decided I should take him for a drive 🙂 first corner I took properly, and all the bloody bells came on about brakes being worn - new rear pads, $360/corner 😱😱 would have been cheaper to just go round the bend at 130mph and ride it out

I’ve never known a car that goes as fast as an electric car do more than 20k a set. In fact rears often more like 6k. These are fast, heavy cars.

that said. I just cruise round in mine and think I’ll get more than 20k from my first set. Far from the 60k a set I get In my pickup.

Yes but how is he being shafted? I don’t understand

He sold an electric car. 3 months later it’s back at the dealership with a charging issue. He gives a courtesy car to the people.
8 months later the courtesy car is still with the people because the car manufacturer and battery manufacturer are blaming each other and doing nothing because the first to fold sets a precedent for the whole country with regards to this brand.

Sounds like a second rate car manufacturer - Morris Garages?

Every recent new car warranty issue I’ve heard of has involved the manufacturer supplying the courtesy car, usually through a hire company. It’s not the dealerships’ problem these days, it seems.

Nothing to service, ?
Brakes, steering, etc
Or do you just live dangerously

20k mile service my brakes were inspected at 5% worn ! they don’t do a lot unless heavy braking as they slow car through regeneration most of the time

20k miles service at Porsche involved ………. changing the pollen filter !

MOT will cover safety when old enough as it does any car

so yes ……… bugger all servicing, bad times to be s car dealer /garage coming up !
