To mask up or not?

Forgive me for not noticing that link - it wasn't obvious as a link. Perhaps someone who wasn't a pillock would have cited it properly.

As for vaccinated being less likely, when 89% of cases come from 95% of the population, that's less likely acording to any logical metric. Unless you're being deliberately disingenuous though, which you may well be (and aren't denying).

Other people managed to read it just you didn't. I can forgive you no problem but I'm not a liar just because I don't believe a lot of what we are being told about covid. There is nothing disingenuous about anything I say - I don't believe a lot of what we are being told.

What it shows that it is not the unvaccinated driving the cases in over the over 60's. This is one of the prime at risk groups

The flu vaccine never stopped the spread. And Covid is a flu type virus. And when the world gets back to some form of normality then we shall get round to an annual vaccine, if you want it. But seems it may well ne mandated for the 'shall we say over 60's' who knows. I am over 60 (reluctantly!!!!) and never yet bothered with a flu vaccine. Have had the Covid vaccines and the booster as seemed sensible and it seemed only way to have that bloomin' Covid pass on the NHS app. I cannot abide that test thing stuck up my nose, so the app pass seemed the compromise. Got me into Potato event at Harrogate last week and the Eastern farm Conference. And hopefully The Engine Shed Monday coming to see The Charlatans. A few of my 60 year old colleagues have now had Covid and I am coming across more younger folk as they get it from their school kids. And in general reporting feeling to varying degrees a bit rough for two or three days. None of them been hospitalised or even seen a doctor (not that you can see a doctor now as they have gone to ground). Anyway I expect with my luck I will be the poor beggar that ends up real poorly when I eventually catch it - as I expect we all will eventually.

If you really nervous of covid you probably would not be going to the charlatans. But your being pragmatic like most of the country are and getting on with your life, that's all you can do. A few mask headbangers on here aren't representative of the vast majority getting on with their lives.

Certainly standing next to an unvaccinated person will make no difference.

Much like the Irwin saw each cutting faster than the last each variant is more transmissable than the last (which is to be expected really). None of the many restrictions we have suffered from the minor to the major ones nor the life experiences lost prevented us being exposed to it.

Its just a case of are you exposed to natural infection only or natural infection plus vaccination. The rest is pointless window dressing.

Went to the hospital yesterday, three porters stood talking, one no mask, one mask dangling from right ear, one mask on chin. In contrast to the visit a few weeks earlier no hand sterilising, no temperature taken. Just asking have you done a lateral flow.

The next variant isn't necessarily more transmissible.

If you want to listen to someone who knows the topic inside out listen to Sunetra Gupta on the latest Planet Normal podcast. Consistent and erudite.

But those who want to prolong the fear won't like it

No not necessarily, as a general trend most diseases get less pathogenic and more transimissable with time

Because you don't agree with me I have to stop putting across a point of view?

It may sink in eventually, but someone may have to tell you what to think first!
Less is more in my book . you just sound very stressed about it all.
I know what I think ,I am not living in fear -far from it , I just want to see what the lay preachers expect to happen one way or another!!

I was off having my booster

Im a bit upset about how things are going politically and the level of censorship going on yes. I think it's deeply corrosive.

Thankfully your opinion will always be ignored by anyone who wants an end to this.

But will it end - in my lifetime. Yesterday The Times headline below - so five years at best!!! Maybe the consultant was being a realist?!?

NHS will be plagued by Covid ‘for at least five years’

Vaccines may be needed for a decade or more, say Downing St advisers
