If they ever send your points across. Mine aren’t on my account yet along with some other points that should be.
Was told today by one of there staff they are still working through stuff from beginning of November so not likely to have my points by the time membership runs out. Will be interesting what happens then.
Been working my way through courses on Ei operator website today. Potentially 8 points on offer. Should scrape me over the finishing line but what a pallaver.
Really it’s all the sort of stuff I’d look up if I needed it. I don’t keep the maximum application rate of carbetamide at the front of my mind but if I was using it I’d look it up or more likely my agronomist would tell me what to put on. I do feel they are padding these courses out to justify the points but it did refresh my mind on one off two things so mustn’t grumble …. too much.

I’ll be lucky to have mine put on my account at that rate. My deadline is 1st Feb. I’ve gained 11 points in the last fortnight. If I can’t carry on spraying it’s the end of my business. No way can I afford a contractor or relief driver, I’ve had no warning of the shortfall at all. Just have last years statement.

NRoSO are totally incompetent. Sent me a similar email in the spring. Was to be cut off due to non payment and lack of points. This was only due to them not sending me a suitable invoice and not crediting the appropriate points. Took them 2 months to acknowledge payment and credit the points. Since then I have had to chase all evidence submitted and it still has not been credited properly.

It must be possible to credit the points straight to your account with the tech now available. Anyone on furlough for the full time period available may need to ask themselves how essential there job really is?
I had all that
Told them to f**koff

Just register your wife/brother, anyone, it doesn't matter, it gives you 3 more years to get points.

Mitigating Circumstances

A ‘Mitigating Circumstances Form’ can be submitted by any member at the end of their three-year term if they have been impacted by circumstances beyond their control which may have adversely affected their achievement of CPD points. For example, medical matters or actions of an employer.

Covid, default excuse for everything so we should just all write that and send it in :)

I am talking to NRoSO now. Can any TFF members how have applied for points and not got them in last 6 months, let me know please?

I have checked and our code is up to date and now have a new one for 2022 as well.

However I have been told you can only get points for one subscription in any given year.

If members aren’t receiving the points, or it could be that its not being added to their overall points, it may be that they already have the maximum allowance for subscriptions so if another subscription is added, they just won’t be added (it will be noted but will not have a tick against it).

I was suspended this summer, tried to sort, took 2 days of trying to get phone answered, emailed some proof of points which never got added, so lost the will to live. Plenty of proper jobs to do at the time, so sod it. Have another operator with a number to get through dead tractor, might re apply next year . Seem to spend as much time messing about getting points as I do spraying🤷🏼‍♂️

I would like to be able to login to the NRoSO site to check my points but can't seem to find a way to create a login if you are already a member (but without a login). How can this be achieved? Tried ringing them but it plays music for half an hour, rings, then cuts you off. What a top class organisation. Not fit for purpose in my view. I know my 3 year stint ends early Feb, I am sure I have enough points according to my written records but can't verify that with them.

Isn't it ironic that this is part of a voluntary initiative ?
Absolutely spot on!

The Voluntary Initiative was invented to try to persuade Gordon Brown, the then Chancellor not to introduce a Pesticide Tax, because he had hinted that he might do so.
The NRoSO bit of it was written by the NFU’s then Pesticides Officer and an influential member of Suffolk NFU, in his farm office over a weekend.

As usual with regard anything to do with NFU, it included every scenario going way beyond what Gordon Brown and the then Secretary of State for MAFF/Defra, Margaret Becket wanted.

Obviously the VI didn’t attract much attention to start with, though Margaret Becket was particularly interested in removing Grandfather’s rights as regards Sprayer operators.

It was actually her that wanted NRoSO specifically for this very reason and it was written before VI to appease her views being: “Does the NFU realise that there are thousand of farmers and farm workers spraying poisonous herbicides on farms without any qualifications to do so?”
But the VI then hijacked NRoSO for their own purpose!

Then we all got conned into the Assured Combinable Crops Scheme (ACCS), who immediately made NRoSO mandatory to all of its farmer customers !

VOLUNTARY implies choice, NOT COMPULSION .

Yet the dear old NFU went along with it!

So pee’d off was its Pesticides Officer, that he resigned and went to work as safety Officer for the NFB (National Federation of Builders).

So pee’d off was I, that we resigned from the NFU at the same time!

PS. There may have been an advantage insofar as the ACCS sub was less that the NFU’s sub.
They caused it, so they deserved to lose theirs.
