JCB have fallen into the trap of building too many machines and not giving a flying fudge about the quality of each unit manufactured.
They should have spent that money upgrading their production base and paying more attention to quality.
Something is going wrong when machines are arriving with the chassis- the most integral component of any machine being mis-shaped and needing a wedge between it and an axle.

Nothing wrong just tolerances are too big. What may seem a very generous bonus (and you wouldn't complain if you were getting it) may actually cost them a lot less then you think when you factor in its effects on tax.

Had it earmarked for a lovely new seat for the loadall as the wife’s Christmas present. This has totally blown out of the water my Christmas budget now!

To be fair that prototype machine you have is totally impervious to door damage now. I thought the dairy farmer spec 'sealed for life' bushes on all the boom and steering joint pivots was a nice touch as it vastly reduces the daily grease gun tally. Had they replaced the seat with a few breeze blocks it would have been the icing on the cake.

Won’t cost them anything judging by the recent quote I had to change my loadall.....they’ve just added it on to every new machine leaving the factory!

I told you not to specify the 'non deformed chassis'. Had you opted for the factory standard wedged axle variant the cost drops by 25% as the usual operator for the 100 tonne press is replaced by a cross-eyed pixie doing YTS.
You should also opt for standard factory welding processes. The bloke that does all the chassis welding in the factory is nicknamed 'jigsaw'. Not because he kills people and chops their bodies in his spare time up but because for every chassis he welds up he always seems to have one piece missing.
