Lots here too. Huge amount of berries in the hedges (holding off cutting), but the birds are clearing them very fast. They might know something!

Yes that seems to be the old saying down here, we get them every year too but there are flocks of 200+ here, more numbers than normal
Yep, decimated several fields of OSR locally..... and my BB mix....
As you say some mahooosive pigeon flocks about.
Daughter is happy as she loves shooting and eating them, but personally, I can leave cabbage flavoured pigeon breasts, it's like the taint you can taste on lamb off turnips

lots up here atm, also must've seen @20 woodcock on saturday while having a walk about with half a dozen mates, none of us could hit a cows ar5e with a shovel tho only bagged 6 pheasants,1 woodcock and 3 ducks

Not sure about Fieldfares, but I saw 10s of Woodcock whilst stripping 800m of fece today, forecast looks colder up here from Christmas onwards.

I can only think you haven't been looking, they arrived at least a month ago. They caught me out a bit or at least made me realise how far behind I had got with things. I was thinking my apples that were still on the trees were safe enough as the varieties left didn't have a habit of falling off. Then the fieldfares turned up. (they eat apples if you weren't aware)
