Nissan Qashqai Infotainment thingy

2015 qashqai, the radio/satnav/music player/phone keep stopping audio and turning off and on again.
Been doing it a year now, but is getting ridiculously more regular. Restarted 6/7 times on a 40 min journey today.
Anybody had such an issue?

Please don't turn it into a "Qashcow" thread.....

Sounds like its got the same problem as my navara and you dont want to know how much it is to replace

Does it still play CDs ,,if so you might get away with a software update disc ,,failing that ,a nissan dealer would have to take it out to get the serial number of the back ,,certain units could be updated ,other not so and mine was a not so

Not sure if it does still play cds. Radio, music from phone and phone calls will all cut audio.

Pull it out and fit an after market with apple car play etc.. cheaper than you think . £300 max

There was a firmware update that fixed these symptoms on vehicles with earlier firmware.

Only available through a nissan dealer ,,thats how I found out mine couldnt be done

Who told you that?

Some of it if not all is downloadable. DIYable. Depends what Firmware etc.

If the CD player isnt working then you cant put a firmware disc in ,it wont run it and unless the unit comes out the vehicle ,there no other way to update it as it needs plugging into a computer ,,dealer tryed with mine but its not updatable ,,cant remember the brand name of the unit but its not a nissan ,even asked about getting an of the shelf unit to put in but to get the sat nav,reversing camera and all the other bits and bobs conected ,it needed no end of conections to fit into the trucks system ,,the cost was insane

No with a Qashqai you can download the firmware.. Version D605 maybe a later one out now. You can DIY it.

Our 2008 Qashqai wont connect to bluetooth phones anymore, this it's too old and needs an update but it never goes to main dealer

Yes and apple car play is where you plug your phone (iPhone) into the radio and you can use your apps on that radio screen. A version is available for android too.

Quick look, and seems an upgrade would require a Nissan dealer to de code the new unit. Car and unit wouldn't recognise each other
