None so blind as those that won't see.

After reading this article I looked at the 148 comments.

1 says carbon credits are wrong.

Approx 3 mention shortage of land to grow food.

Most say conifers are the wrong specis.

Others comment that the fast growing conifers are to get a quick harvest, thus enabling the land to be developed.

Only Shelia, bless her, can see the history.

They don't realise that carbon credits are here to stay, to allow industry and travel to keep spewing out their sh1t.

PS. Absolute non believer of climate change

OK. I detest cliches for a start. Someone will be along with " Each to their own " shortly.......

Yes., it's ridiculous. Plant half a dozen trees, and it's then OK to spaff 36,000 gallons of fuel on a 12 hour flight.

On the other hand........folks should do what they want with their own land. More land taken out of food production must be a bonus. Having just sold some land in Wales, I can confirm tree planting multi - nationals were non existent .

Not saying, folks shouldn't do what they like with their own land.

My point is the comments, amazed that after reading the article, most couldn't see any more than 'conifers'.

It's a total load of bull poo sadly being encouraged by a totally incompetent corrupt government & in part by the NFU, the only saving grace if there is one is that the more farms that are taken out of production the more chance of a food scarcity coming & some form of common sense returning!

I hear quite a few people stating it will be a good thing as the less land available for food production the more food will be worth, I on the other hand am a little more pessimistic and feel that's a rather naive view.
The less land available for food production the more cheap shite they will import, and therefore the worse any future trade deals will be for our farms and our country.

quite right, we already import 40% of our food, how much more to people think we need to import before food becomes worth more?

Bottom line is every ton of food that isn't grow here has to be carted here from abroad so the whole idea is a sham from the get go but it looks good and gives consumers a warm fuzzy feeling inside that they are saving the world.

Given the ideas these people have for saving the world are so far off from where they need to be. And given they won't even recognise that it's the number of people on the plant thats the problem even though its staring them in the face, there is no point paying attention to the drivel they spout.

I think it’s pretty indisputable that it is changing, has been since before the time of humans on the planet.
Yep its just that we are unfortunate enough to have a crowd of politicos at our time on the planet that have decided to make an industry out of it ..... don't mater how much they tax us they won't change the weather !
