60% for home bred stock I believe.60% of market value.
might look as if you are, but really you are just being open and frank, which means you get a lot of practical answers, from people that actually know the answers. And built up a lot of goodwill, with a lot of farmers, that want to see you get on.Thankyou, I'm always worried I just come across as though I'm moaning I do like what I'm doing, honest...
Regarding the accountant that's a good idea, thankyou, I have absolutely no idea about tax so definitely need to speak to someone who does! Probably need to find an accountant first
Our are cull value as well @£150Ours are cull cow value.
Just cut the cake out for this heifer as she's going dry Friday, top yielder out of my friesian heifers at 6000l and also my highest classified at bfv86, in-calf to contender conventional, hopefully an exciting lactation next year!
Premier, not the best constituents though, but I'm not sure how accurate they are, she's been 5% fat for the past 6 months and fat % for the whole lactation is still less than 4%Chad?
agree with you, NMR testing does throw up some peculiar constituent readings, one hopes they are more accurate with payment testing. Normal lactation probably average out near enough, but, one does wonder who monitors the payment tests. We had a query, a/b failure, but the second sample, had gone 'off', so they couldn't test it, very convenient indeed, esp as the a/b wasn't one we used.Premier, not the best constituents though, but I'm not sure how accurate they are, she's been 5% fat for the past 6 months and fat % for the whole lactation is still less than 4%
It takes a proper farmer to love sheep my wife says she hates them but she’s the best shepherd I know.3 words:
Kill. Me. Now.
The only good thing about sheep is that they remind me why I like cows
I'm the only one who doesn't want them but also the only idiot that will look after them!?!?! Not sure how that works but there we goIt takes a proper farmer to love sheep my wife says she hates them but she’s the best shepherd I know.
our tack sheep arrived yesterday, first thought this morning, are the buggers still where they are meant to be, luckily yes. They have oceans of grass, but trust them ? never.3 words:

Ours went home last week, been here since Oct, Don`t like the grass eaten hard in Jan / Feb.our tack sheep arrived yesterday, first thought this morning, are the buggers still where they are meant to be, luckily yes. They have oceans of grass, but trust them ? never.
no idea what the going rate sheep/week is, 30p? pretty irrelevant really, so much grass about, proportion needs coming off.
used to keep 500, now they are a necessary evil.
Never thought I'd ever be a vegan but that image has made me more likely than ever
Hmm I disagree, equally bloody stupid? Not all sheep are born equal!
It has the opposite effect on me, naughty sheep taste better.Never thought I'd ever be a vegan but that image has made me more likely than ever
Some of mine are much the same!I don’t know about that, my sheep wouldnt stand still in a parlour that’s for sure.
