That's all very well, but you will need to add minerals and protein to make a comparable ration to any of the compounds quoted above. Oats and SBP mixed will be a good energy source, but very low in protein.
Just picked up some Hipro Soya and sheep mins.
Home mixed, 17% ration works out at £230/t, plus 5 minutes a day with a shovel.
Shoud be just right when fed with leafy 2nd cut haylage.
I'll find out when they start lambing !!

Was quoted £325/t for 18% sheep nuts from my usual merchant.

What are people's opinions on these ewe cakes? I know which one I like the look of. To be fed to ewes scanning 180-200% alongside good (11 ME) silage.

No need for cake with 11 me silage. Buy Soya and feed 100 grams per lamb scanned plus minerals . Done it and it works well

What ewelac 18,? 6 or7£ cheaper, l, ll need a wee 5ton in a fortnight time, frightened to phone anyone, it won't be nwf, can't stand that women from stirling that's the rep.
Didn’t ask this time but I’m sure when I spoke to them the last month it was £10 less. If I were you I would be putting the order in sooner rather than later. Let us know how you get on please

@neilo was it Dai Arthur in Cowbridge you got your ibc of liquid feed from?

No, I rang the local (North & Mid-Wales) Rumenco rep who rang round a few local suppliers and organised it through the cheapest (BCW). It actually came by pallet delivery, with BCW just sorting the invoicing.

I’m guessing your local Rumenco rep would do similar?

Sorry Neil I've just noticed where you are from, I thought you were from the South East which would tie up with Dai Arthur as they are downland merchants. 😂

"Ian Rumenco" was the rep that covered from mid to west Wales. I don't know if it's the same?

rep said £300 for the classic 18. don’t think there’s much between the ewe lac and classic As the ”cheap“ ingredients arent cheap any more so better stuff is being used.
