These newfangled tractors that turn off on the key. If you've had to jump start it to get the feeding done with a low battery, it will suddenly stop as the batttery runs down and the shut off does its thing when you are a mile from home. Back in the days of the old 434s, you just jumped them and they ran happily all day.

It has a new battery but the alternator died without bothering to show a red light on the dash. I never realised that it would run the battery down and stop while just ticking over with nothing turned on. The Disco did the same a while ago, the alternator failed without warning while Mrs Fred was coming home with the horse trailer and it ran fine til it stopped dead in the middle of the 4 lane bit of the A31. Older diesls would keep running and get you home, but i guess the electronic bits drain the battery.

A lot of them use electricity to keep the fuel shut off solenoid open, so when the electricity goes, so does the solenoid.

Bad head cold. Nose streaming like a tap. Sinus painful. Hardly slept. Busting headache. Aching all over. Negative covid test. As soon as beet harvesting finished it started. Always something to take the shine off things.

What kind of test did you do? I'd be tempted to give it a day or two and try another one (PCR?)

Just the home standard self test kit, pipe cleaner in throat and up nose mixed with reagent and two drops on the plastic encased test strip. We had a visitor with a bunged up nose a week ago, the sort that has to hold forth for half an hour. Reckon that’s where it came from as otherwise we haven’t really seen anybody. Most aggravating.

Yeah, I'd be getting a PCR test - far more accurate, I believe. For your own peace of mind, if nowt else.
One of the wife's work colleague felt rough and went for a pcr, came back negative. That night she still felt rough and took a home lft - positive! No consistency.

There's no doubt that the LFT is less accurate / sensitive than the PCR, but it's quicker and cheaper. Unusual that the PCR would come negative when the LFT didn't but I guess the virus might just have got a hold as the PCR was done. Or maybe they cotton bud didn't get up enough/too far for one but not the other. Mrs HM gets a PCR once a month as part of an ONS survey, but it's still self taken which is probably the weakest link in the chain.
This virus is a mystery for sure!
