The Like's of Powertool mate etc sell so cheap cause they invested 8 to 9 million into stock, your average tool shop is never going to compete with that no matter how hard they try.
Agreed so why not just buy in bulk from powetoolmate(others available of course) and cut out the rep costs which is where the extra comes from.
Seen many local outlets with new red shelving and pinboards stocked full of gear not 8-9 million of course which sits around for a while then disappears again because they can't shift stock even at cost price.
Milwaukee need to give the local guy a fighting chance if they want to keep the name and product out there. Good though it is new designs needs a local supplier to help you through the product numbering nightmare to save buying something unsuitable.

Unfortunately they don't need to. DeWalt and Milwaukee are the top 2 power tool brands and that isn't going to change any time soon. They need to charge the small sellers more to cover the much higher distribution costs, as they can't just drop off a full artic of whatever product straight from the docks like they do for PTM. If Milwaukee increased all its prices to let the local companies compete then people would buy DeWalt instead, and vice versa.

I’m afraid that this is the world we now live in. It’s about efficiency and low business costs relative to the volume sold. While I do feel sorry for the local man who can’t or won’t adapt, I very much like the prices and service provided by these distant sellers on the whole.
There are a few local businesses that have adapted and thrive. One that comes to mind is Carmarthen Cameras who have adapted to a declining market by selling from their own website, Amazon and eBay. This has enabled them to expand greatly and even move to new larger premises and employ more people. Less people per units sold of course, but as farmers we are very used to that in our own businesses. Many retailers are only now realising that they need to get more efficient if they are to survive. It’s already too late for many, just look at the boarded up shops everywhere.

Yes, my second choice was Hikoki which matched or bettered my cheapest price for Milwaukee.

Its all about turn over with large business like this, always has been always will be. You can pick up the phone to powertool mate (westward) and talk to them or order over the phone if you want to, you can also contact them via there facebook page and most of the time nathan will reply even out of hours, they run competitions every week raffling off brand vans full of tools and these are sometimes ones were all profits to charity aswell. They are excellent at online marketing which brings in massive sales turn over. They even help people with special pricing when there tools are stolen but i think this got abit out of hand so they now request proof like a police crime number for example as too many were taking advantage of there good nature/cleaver marketing. I say cleaver marketing there because thats really what it boils down too, helping someone at your cost then you hopefully have a customer for life type of thing.

So I know of one tool shop that has the display boards etc. and in an effort to compete actually bought a pallet or 2 from an online seller. Slight discount and added a margin for himself. Was cheaper than his display board no boxes or anything fancy but was trying to adapt.
Registered the warranty to make sure all genuine but how long before milwaukee shut that down I wonder. Do they care where the guy buying lorry loads actually sells them?

nothing wrong with that, milwaukee most likely prefer them to do that as its cheaper to basically use the big sellers as wholesale distributors (as well as retail) rather than milwaukee having to operate their own whole distribution warehouse just for a few niche sellers, hence their pricing to these sellers.

OK that was a massive disappointment then!

Puncture on a trailer earlier so no problem get the new rattle gun out and buzz the nuts off. New milwaukee bought before Christmas after someone on here posted a 20% discount offer on ebay similar to the one posted above. Got the gun and tried it then back in the box till today. Wouldn't look at the nuts till they were cherry red luckily trailer in the yard. Checked the specs again online and fairly sure it should have the nut busting option but the nuts never flinched.
Another thing just using a cheap Clarke six sided socket thought it might have cracked under the (alleged) pressure from the gun.
Is it possible to check the torque from the gun?

Half inch gun with a 27mm socket and no extensions or adapters.
6 stud 12.5 80 15.3 iirc.

M18 onefhiwf12

Assumed this was the high torque with 1356 nm fastening torque with a nut busting boost of 1898nm.
But on the Web the only variant with that spec has 502 after that code so don't know what I've got.

edit. Just worked out the code is for 2x5amp batteries so gun should be up to spec.

The last part of code it the battery. 5amps and 2 of them in the kit.

There will be a mode button I expect for different torque settings and as you got a onekey model it can be linked to your phone via bluetooth to customize the preset torque. A onekey model woukdnt ge my first choice imo as it's another part to go wrong and not really needed, it's only major plus point is to some extent you can track the tool so long as its within range of anyone that has the Milwaukee app on there phone.
I think you can also disable the tool remotely with it if it's in range of someones bluetooth!

There is no nut busting feature that's just a term they use to describe the power of all there impacts.

Thanks ACE your reply came through as I was searching and didn't see it before my edit.
So can I assume this is the highest power 1/2" gun then.
Not got my head round this bluetooth button yet does it need to be set to get the biggest oomph?
