Yes and have been for a couple of months . Unusual for us to see the numbers .
no acorns this year might’ve encouraged them earlier

Yep. I’m probably not even making a dent in the numbers. Gas gun out now also.

Strangely enough, we had hundreds until the beginning of December, now, only the odd one or two.
Haven’t see any large flocks for weeks, and long may it continue 👍

I know someone locally that’s involved with trials to help prevent the larvae in the stems.
so one field has been topped and another grazed tight with sheep.

Having seen fields stripped bare then do really well after pigeon damage I am only being half arsed in my pigeon control this year, especially with the thoughts they may be eating any larvae.

I’ve just got back from a day on rape, saw hundreds shot seven,but kept them off for the day, there does seem to be a hell of a lot of rape about, a fair few took the gamble round here, I also think they’re still ivy berries in the woods
