I really don’t want to appear to be arguing with you, apols. However: there are essential fatty acids, there are essential amino acids but there are no essential carbohydrates. Indeed, humans can survive perfectly well without any carbs at all, and be healthy to boot. Apart from certain tribes there are many people around the world who have cut carbs out entirely or almost entirely and have improved their health as a result. I’m not recommending that for anyone btw, merely making the observation.Sorry but on a day to day basis to survive , calories is what is absolutely necessary, people will live years on a diet chronically short of correct amino acids , organic fatty acids minerals even vitamins but deprive them of calories and they will lose weight overnight. Oh hang on , what have I just said
Actually I suspect a mcdonalds is actually very nutritious, a combination of high grade protein some carbs certainly will help if you put some good tomato sauce in there as well , but all in moderation!
I would be far more concerned about Costa/ Starbucks 600 calorie coffees and another 600 calorie muffin whammy on top, which so many consider a healthy breakfast!
