Farmers earn more from YouTube than their crops

Unfortunately jealousy is rife in agriculture. It's baffling seeing grown men having a go at a lad who is making money by keeping his hands clean rather then being covered in cow 5hi7 all day and wearing his body out.

In my humble opinion the content you put out should have attracted over 100k+ subscribers easily. Even our fitter who has no interest in agriculture loves your hands on boiler fixes and general problem solving on a day to day basis.

However as you have new machinery, Fendt tractors, nice sheds and several business's many farmers won't subscribe due to the green eyed monster.

You'd do alot better on Youtube if you had run down buildings with machinery held together with bale band like Tom initially started.
I maybe should talk about the diversification more and how to throw good money after bad farming

I think you’ve a good mix going on, and you seem to stick in and get your hands mucky
other olly seems to be more of a poser trying to get the best deals come to him (maybe he’s right) never seen him mucky I’ve seen a few of his vids but they wind me up
like the the way you will have go at supermarkets etc keep it up

I think the average age is a lot higher as everyone on here seems to watch 🤷‍♂️
I'd say most on here will have only watched a couple of his videos just to see what he's about and whether he's as useless as he is portrayed on here. I did the same a little while ago, realised he's not worth watching and haven't watched anymore since, whereas I watch your videos everyday (y)

The politest way of describing him is he is the next generation of Adam Henson!

To defend Ollys Farm, I like to think that perhaps he isn't quite the person that he portrays in his vids. Maybe he has found a niche of YouTube vids that are very popular amongst a certain generation of watchers - either because they love what he shows, or hates what he does (or doesn't do 🙄) in his day - either way with 100+k subscribers he must be doing well. Maybe he simply doesn't have to get his hands mucky.
In which case good luck to the lad 👍

Or maybe he is exactly what we see on his vids.

Either way, if it ain't broken for him, no need to try and fix it

Hopefully with free speech not held back by the bbc

There was an interview or column with Clarkson where he defended Henson as he said that he knows what it is like to work for the BBC with one hand tied behind your back and a gun to your head.

Where's the jealousy? Until you know other peoples circumstances, don't make assumptions. Some people spend time surrounded by cows because they enjoy it, not everyone wants to sit in the house 24/7.
I've explained it before on here that my opinion of Olly is based on what we see of his attitude, and it's not good, he's an arrogant little twit! He actually said on video that he was going to an upcoming farm show but didn't want people stopping him for a chat, or to take a picture, because he's not there for that, if people want to do that he'll organise a meet and greet for them. I mean is it too much to say hello or have a wee chat and a picture with the 12 year olds that subscribes to your channel and buys your merch? Or should I mention the disgusting attitude he had towards the dealers about his JD loader? Even though his broke and they replaced it with one to keep him going, he went on a rant about how unprofessional their behaviour was because they had not taken his old one away yet, and poor little Olly was left with it. Despite all this going on in the middle of the worst of the pandemic when most companies were running a skeleton staff and trying their best to keep things moving.
Personally a better advert for farming is obviously Tom Pemberton, Olly Blogs, George Saunders, Mc Milking It, Crawfords Farm, KV6080 etc Or my personal favourite - Drews Farming Life.

I like Drew, I'm sure he'd be a great guy to have a few pints with. But never watch all of his YouTube video's. I feel there too long. His target audience seems to be nob farmers the way he explains everything. I usually get bored.

You must walk with your eyes shut if you believe that there is no jealously in farming, If a farmer buys a new tractor or some land other farmers always find something to put him/her down. The mart cafes and pubs are full of gossip.

Look through some of the threads about Mr Dyson on here, the jealously shown towards him is unbelievable, all because he has worked hard and developed a successful business.

We all run our business's differently and have differing personalities, no one is perfect. I find it baffling why grown men will have a go at a young man and insult him personally on a public forum, especially when social media insults and mental illnesses are capable of so much harm and devastation.
