Talking to someone today and he was saying a lot of people with lambs on dairy grass are being told they have to get off a month early, so there could be more lambs than usual coming through in the next month
We foretold this 6 weeks ago. I’m pretty certain there will be a glut from now until mid Feb. After that it’s down too those that grow fodder and the hopper outfits.

Could do, we shall have too see. I’m convinced there are a lot of sheep about compared too last year. All these underdone lambs in the fat going on for feeding won’t help in 2 months time. They all come back at some point. Last year they were that dear not many were going for feeding (according too a couple of auctioneers who are usually pretty accurate) and were going the one way ride. 🤷🏻‍♂️ We shall see!
I could do with these ewes finishing a bit faster then I’ll have plenty of space too sit tight with my lambs!

Ashford today.
Hoggets came to January reality, everything else was a great trade, especially the cattle and cows. Ewes were also dear as many were small and lean.

2,500 sheep 160 cattle and 71 pigs were traded here today in Ashford Market

Hoggs were £5.60 per kilo this week last year and jumping upwards due to lack of numbers.....plenty hoggs about at the moment this year and the price is about to meet last years who’s wanting to make a price prediction tracker 😂🤣
I think I said back in October, £6 (possibly £6.50) Christmas, £7 end of Jan, £7.50 April
