Same could be said for those that buy it at any price and then stock prices/corn drops. Both are a gamble

I’ve yet to meet one person complain about lamb price in the last year. If you cant make good money at sheep this year you never will. But then I’m just a hill farmer with plain sheep so what do I know
I moaned plenty about the cost of store lambs this last 2 years…

You can grow a crop on your p and k reservoir for a year but there’s often not much left in the tank the year after

Which is fine, but you can really attribute the cost of all your fertiliser and diesel to them in that case. Unless you’re trying to make an arable enterprise look good of course.
I know most of my input costs are down to the arable here, certainly not the baa baas.

if you only take one cut and put on dung every year, you dont need to buy in any p and k. i havent bought any for over a decade and it hasnt affected the soil or yield

I haven’t got any that heavy!!!
Same here, but only last five years, takes a couple of years to adjust but boy does it feel good

Think most of the fertiliser factories are getting passed their sell by date & need 100% replacements or colossal investment to see them through another 20yrs either way it's mega bucks
