The increase in commodities is worldwide, we and especially the consumer of our products will have to get used to paying more for their food. This country is run on the likes of Costa coffee and other eateries and folk think nothing when handing over their hard earned cash to these places, but try and get them to spend their money on fresh food it’s like banging your head off the wallLooks like weaning cattle have been dear in Australia 1000c per kilo equivalent of £5 per kilo for 300/400 kilo beast that’s a lot
I can not see them flooding the UK with cheap beef at that price. May be we can dump some cheap beef on them.Looks like weaning cattle have been dear in Australia 1000c per kilo equivalent of £5 per kilo for 300/400 kilo beast that’s a lot
Best not produce anything cheap if we can help it , mass production of cheap commodity fails at every turn in this country no matter what .I can not see them flooding the UK with cheap beef at that price. May be we can dump some cheap beef on them.
Your in a good mood this morning!Busting a gut to produce cheap food that no one wants to pay for no one gives a sh!t just want it cheaper and cheaper half the people don’t even want you to produce it the half hate your guts cos we get subsidy , what a job ! Why do we bother , they also thjnk half the time we trying to poison them as well …. I hope I live long enough to see food shortages I really do ! Treat farmers like sh!t reap what they sown .
we have been doing that for last 40 years (CAP) all its done is insulate the GP against inflation , would have been better for tesco to allow us a few % a year increase , would have been less painful being hit with a full cop rise down the line , like canute you can only hold the tide back so long ,Would you take £30/hd less for your lambs if fuel halved and your fert bill dropped to £200/t ?
My tractor was playing up early doors and you just get to wonder on Saturday morning why bother but I’m getting over it now I’ve fixed the twatimg thing .Your in a good mood this morning!

If they think lamb is too dear maybe they should cut their costs, that’s what they’ve been telling us for yearswe have been doing that for last 40 years (CAP) all its done is insulate the GP against inflation , would have been better for tesco to allow us a few % a year increase , would have been less painful being hit with a full cop rise down the line , like canute you can only hold the tide back so long ,
Not up with the latest news but somebody I spoke to yesterday said they were backtracking on the autumn muck spreading ban, is that trueLooks like Eustice got it wrong, good job we didn’t swap sheep for beef like he said!
Let’s hope he’s got the rest of it wrong too
If you read it it’s more of a guidance thing. You can still spread as long as it’s not a 20% slopeNot up with the latest news but somebody I spoke to yesterday said they were backtracking on the autumn muck spreading ban, is that true
Is this an English thing or whole UK?If you read it it’s more of a guidance thing. You can still spread as long as it’s not a 20% slope
