No duty just vatCan anyone who is currently Importing Used Tractor/Fork Lifts/ General Construction or Farm Machinery From Europe Confirm if any Import Duty is payable?
Thanks
No Vat if still within the customs union.
Richard Long will sort it for youJust looking at DAN - deferred duty - but they want accounts etc etc for last 3 years +++++ answers to loads of questions!! - financial stability - forecast trading and cash flow - I might as well just pay at importation and claim it back if I still have them in 3 months time.
You will need to get an EORI number to import. Can anyone who is currently Importing Used Tractor/Fork Lifts/ General Construction or Farm Machinery From Europe Confirm if any Import Duty is payable?

That takes about as long to achieve as reading this thread. You will need to get an EORI number to import.
Another vote for Richard long. We use his team a lot. Your one load probably isn’t worth his hassle and he is correct. Pricing is very hard. The majority of issues are to do with UK customs not EU customs.
What I mean is if it’s a one off to do for a one off customer with all the paperwork that has to be done. His time is better spent (this profit) moving his non one off machines. The paperwork will add alone about an hour to each booking. Then you have to get your wagon to a place your aren’t used to, to a site you don’t know willIf one load isn’t worth his hassle it’s unlikely he would ever get another one so that makes no sense.

Load or unload you on time…..
You are missing the point. I come to you as a farm contractor. Can you come plough my paddock. It only needs ploughing once. I understand you have 30 customers you plough for each year.Sounds awful. He should pack it in then.

But my paddock is very important.
Ok, I’ll come plough it, was pay me.
Yes ok,
Two weeks pass, said contractor arrives at paddock to find 4 locked gates, owner arrives 2 hours later. … you get my drift!
there was a chap on here advertising for load into uk.
try him. Just search on here haulage. Can’t find his details.
