Those who were invited to join the scheme and joined the webinar would have seen that the driver behind this is branded sales growth. In very rough terms 1/3 of the milk is sold under a brand but it provides 2/3rds of the profits. Arla are constantly trying to move milk into the branded sector as this is what is driving their milk price. Arla 360 is part of this process to help drive the price for all Arla members. The scheme will suit some farms more than others and the payment is ’cost compensation’ for the extra hoops you have to jump through. Some may decide those costs don’t stack up for them but should be aware that those who do take it up are helping to drive branded sales which helps the Arla base price over and above any cost compensation payment they receive.
I can see all that, but it’s a fine line between a nanny state and an insult to my intelligence, to doing what you explained above.
Don’t get me wrong, arla are doing a fine job, but why should we hand so much information over to the supermarkets? Would they tell us all that they are getting up to? Of course not.

Because we are sticking our head above the parapet with claims of how our firm operates, at every point in the process, and we like to prove that we have nothing to hide.

So in time, if you don't sign up you will have to leave or be forced to sign up? As unless it's 100% compliant, then you can't shout about how the firm operates.
Saying 70% of our farmers do this that and the other isn't a selling statement

Night mare if you've 2 farms next to each other 20 miles away from the next farm and you can't collect them together.
Hats off to arla. Must be some cost in doing that. Not to mention carbon foot print.
It's the logistics issue omsco has had with haveing standard organic & PWAB farms tanker drive right past some farms onto one hour up the road and then right back past on returning. Now everyone is PWAB no choice.

Interestingly our Arla head is now wanted to go down the cost data sharing route but every member iv spoken to is dead against the concept.

Also Omsco supply Arla with organic milk at times I understand ours goes to London in some night collections

So they can fill the 360 tanker on a milk swap if they meet the standards?
At present 360 milk isn’t segregated, my lowly arla garden assured milk is collected with 2 360 farms milk. But the new Arla farm brand standard milk (360 standards plus grazing) will be segregated transport and they/we are paying to put extra milk storage at Aylesbury and sturton.

Thank you. Thought as much.
Shame some think it's all kept separate already. We do have arla tankers picking up around here, so you can see what's going on.
So in the end, everyone will be forced to go 360
The concern for a non arla person, is where one goes the rest will follow.
It's all about keeping up with the Jones.
For a while there is some money available, then when everyone is on board the price drops back.

No no one will force anyone to be a 360 farmer. Some 360 milk is already segregated as part of the Morrisons pool.

We were told during the consultation period that alot of the latest round of red tractor standards we being brought in because the difference between what some milk companies (possibly more to do with Tesco contracts than Arla) were doing was to big.

Also big push for First Milk members to go regen ag Arla might have to separate that milk out as it will be worth more:unsure:

Fairly random Arla text this evening asking us to inform member services of any volume changes, it’s a fair request but we’ve tried communicating with Westbury/member services about collections/volume in the past and drawn a blank
